Hello BHW:

I have 2 simple questions:

1) Which criteria do you use to detect a fake twitter account?

2) For those who use FollowLiker, which "Scrape User Settings" do you recommend to avoid those fake accounts?

You can not trace or no fake accounts impossable there millions on twitter and otherd.

You got to learn how o interact with your followers and keep them happy.

Look at the content they post, and their followers/followings.

No magic spell unfortunately but some things that makes it easy to spot fake accounts or accounts that will never like your stuff or give you anything positive but a +1 follower:
1. content they post.
2. hot chick as pic, like a 5/7.
3. high following vs followers ratio.

Fake accounts usually have a following percentage at an all time high as compared to the follower percentage so just try to restrict your following to those that have a lower percentage.

Profile pic and bio they use
Tweets they share mostly about one thing or product
Unusual and interrelated too many followers

There are many tools you can use to detect and remove fake profiles. This tools use their own criteria for results. You have to check the tool in details on which basis they come to fake accounts.
StatusPeople is one of the most popular platform to detect fake users.

Identifying Humans vs Twitter Bots
Camisani Calzolari wrote a set of rules (PDF) that can help detect real users from bots, inactive accounts and fake Twitter users. Some of the rules are:

• The account has written at least 50 tweets
• the account has at least 30 followers
• the profile contains a URL
• the profile contains an image
• the profile contains a biography
• it has been inserted into other Twitter lists

The Google Spreadsheet that is generated by the Twitter Analyzer app includes most of this information as well. Thus, apart from gender analysis, the Analyzer app may help you figure out how many fake bots and inactive profiles follow you on Twitter.
