Is there a way to check out a websites keywords? Or is this totally against the rules?
try SEMrush service
Holy moly, $69.95 a month!
Yes SEMrush is good for seeing what your competitors rank for, also you can use ahrefs or majestic seo and see what keywords your competitors are actively building links too aswell...
Is there any other free alternative except SEM Rush
keywordspy is worth a shot, or spyfu. they offer free online but with very restricted use
Are there any that don't cost me an arm and a leg?
Check "Alexa" & " who is " to get more information over it.
What do you mean exactly with website keywords? If you mean the keywords a website uses for the website: open the website, right click (view source code), then search for "keywords" and then you have it. If you mean the keywords (anchors) the website it´s linked to other websites, then use ahrefs.com or from LinkAssistant Spyglass.
Is it worth it? I might try buy I'm not sure what i'm paying for.
Google has a tool for this. But it sucks compared to SEMrush (which isn't perfect either) =)
Log in to adwords, go to keyword planner, select "Search for new keyword and ad group ideas" and fill in the "Your landing page" field with the website you want to check.
