How Do You Actually Make Money from a Blog?

Affiliate marketing and showing ads both can work. You have to try both and see which is giving more profit.

Adsense is becoming less and less lucrative for bloggers. This is because they are putting different type of limits and restrictions on sites.

You need to check older blogging journeys for that. As you can see from the journey section, there aren't many blogging journeys nowadays, the industry has been shrinking. Although there are still ways to do it, people prefer other things nowadays.

Don't mind me saying this but "running a blog" doesn't mean anything really. You could be running a blog without traffic, or with traffic that doesn't convert, or with traffic and earnings that aren't worth it.

So you gotta figure out how to make money before building the blog, otherwise it's just a hobby.
 
You can start making money with a blog at any time. First, choose a niche you're passionate about, then begin monetizing it, I usually start with adsense. The most challenging part is driving traffic. You’ll need to consistently update your blog with valuable content and focus on SEO. Once that’s done, you can also start building an email list.
 
To sell digital courses /products not forget , you have to do your daily work on content marketing+ video youtube or social media and insame time you must create your course maybe with 25 video modules as example. That's a lot of work! You need a good daily structure to not get burnt out !
 
banners are the money pot of blogging/website which display different ads to readers/traffics,other means of generate income in blogging is review/guest post service.
 
Guest post for me works best + Adsense,Ezoic, Grow etc for some extra dollar.
 
I make most of my blog income from affiliate marketing and display advertising. I started with AdSense, then added Amazon and a few other niche programs. The biggest thing that has helped is focusing on buyer intent keywords and building an email list early on. Sponsored posts also work, but only if your traffic is solid and targeted.

Different people have different approach. Like one guy I know has business of selling guest posts only and he has network of blogs. But even his work is affected now because of increasing dominance of AI tools.
 
AI Perplexity tries to tell me, that nowadays in email marketing the conversion rates are lower, than it was years ago. Menas this; From your subscriber list, max. 5% will buy a product from you not 8-10% as it was year sago.

I'm not sure if this Ai is correct inmarket validation or is doing a lot of hallucination?
 
Most blogs make money through ads, affilate marketing and sponsored posts. Adding digital products or courses works best for long-term consistent income.
 
When successfull Bloggers (website owners) need serveral years to get good traffic to build an email list, the reason is, most who do Blogging not know how a good seo optimized website site structure looks like, and which content style and format to use to get good traffic. (who will go viral too from time to time) .

Affiliate- I prefer to offer your own services, because the affiliate busienss has many leaks to "steal" the affiliates commissions.

I offer my own service - my rules, my service, my business, clients pay into my bank account ! This is my own rule. I cut out all unpredictable variables. Yes start little bit slow then online banks can freeze my online money when the first big transactions coming in, I heard netvast bank should be the best, they will not freeze online income in amount of $50-60.000. monthly or quarterly.

When I get more clients , then I will found a UK Limited company (I'm european) and physical London bank account. I'm scared of these absurd socialism restrictions many online banks have to freeze my money. I think WISE or Netvast will be the best online bank option to start.
