Who said only way to get traffic on site was from Google only. There are many other sources to get traffic on the website as well.

Try to rank where there is no ai overview, or go to a niche that ai cant give good answers.

I work in a car repair site, and one of the things I see that ai (google in this case) don't do is give answers about local businesses, and some specific and new car problems too.

You should think along the lines of using AI for own benefit in SEO. That way you will be working not against but with AI.

You will loose some traffic but it is not end of the world. You can also try to get traffic from social media.
