a few clicks might not matter, but if you get hundreds or thousands of fake clicks google will see that the ads don't convert and they'll know you are clicking on your own ads.
that's a silly question anyway... you can't make much by clicking on your own ads, and it's definitely not scalable.
For one your clicks would be coming from a small geographical area. It's unlikely that many of your clicks would come from the same area and that would be an obvious sign of cheating.
Depending on how tin foil hat you want to get it's also possible that you used some Google service at those areas and there is a connection there.
But really in the end you just shouldn't click on your own ads. You're not hurting Google you're hurting people like me and others on this forum who pay for those clicks.
Google spies everybody, they know what you do (cookies, Android, YouTube, etc...). Its algorithms can read if clicks are valids or not thanks to bouncing rate, conversion rate, history, preferences, cache...
As the other people said above. If most of the clicks are coming from the same geographical area over a period of time and none of the clicks convert for the advertisers then your account will probably get flagged for review. Google has got really good at detecting this kind of stuff.
