have anybody heard of wsi, i believe they are a franchise and just wondering what sort of tactics they use on client websites.

if you go to the uk wsi franchise website and if you take a look on their blog, they do a experiment to see if they can reach number 1 spot within a week for a niche keyword and they manage it. any ideas on how they do it. i dont think it is white seo. to see the experiment just type in "smartest man in Britain"

The thing is - the OP was looking at another site - not just "the smartest man in britain".

OP - how do you know that there are no new links to the site which jumped?

I suspect you have no way of knowing this.
