How do programmers stay Awake

Caffeine and nicotine. Most do all kinds of drugs and alcohol at the least after programming, it's a roller coaster lifestyle.
That's what ai is preferred as it stays sober well most of time, sometimes it hallucinate.

I drink a lot of coffee, sometimes some energy drinks, but my advice - better be proactive, and that not relates to time you are spending in front of your computer, it means, that you should have to have a plan and complete it step by step. Programming is not a sprint, it`s a marathon, so you should split your energy into parts, and not use it all at once.

If you have deadlines to meet, I am sure you will force yourself to stay awake

caffeine is the obvious answer but I refuse to code when im sleep deprived. I end up making more bugs than features that I'll just have to fix anyway when im well rested.

I alternate between coding and doing other stuff. 20 hours per day sounds irrational. I'd say more like 4-8 hours of focused coding. The times I stay most focused is when I'm trying to locate some bug in my code... I often forget to eat in those instances.

Sleeping is just a thought, I think any programmer will just need to take take the thoughts off d mind and divert the energy elsewhere. As a programmer that's what I do

Coffee, soda, coffee, soda and an another coffee

After some time they won't even have an effect tho because of your caffeine resistance

Do a short nap in the afternoon, not less than 30min, it will make you feel fresh in the evening. Also iron supplements may help (but don't overuse it).

Been doing that for years. Haven't made much. I think $10k in total. So it's not the key.

Try learning computer science in general. It will get you much further than reckless coding which I practiced.

Now I don't have a job and have to start again at the age of 25. This time I'll aim to get a degree and real knowledge instead of just doing random programs for days barely sleeping and thinking about the next function.

If you have deadlines, other people can help you. Simple as that. Don't think you'll get fired if you don't meet it. They're usually unrealistic and nobody meets them.

On paper you can write "everything must be done by tomorrow". But paper will accept everything. So consider that. Reality vs expectations. You can't stretch time too.

Jobs are the same as degrees. You need time to complete them. No way to get a degree by tomorrow. It's the same with projects.

The point of ambition and greed is to become competent and exceptional. It's not about pleasing other people by doing ASAPs.

Holy shit, I watched 'Freddy' and didn't sleep for 4 days.

Then I watched 'Jeepers Creepers' during my childhood. As I walked along the road in my village, I started looking at the sky, wondering if that ghost would fly. I began to run in fear.

And then, I watched the original Dracula movie with high volume. I didn't sleep for two days and kept the lights on until morning.
I remember I watched nightmare on the elm street with a friend, and just fell asleep watching it. My friend was freaking out at every sound he heard in the house lmao he constantly woke me up

Btw: Don't try to avoid sleep. Sleep 8-9 hours a night, everything else doesn't work. You will not work as well and you fuck your health and well being. The peopel who say "I regularly only sleep 6 hours a night and I am fine" are not exactly lying, but they are full of shit. They just do it so long now that they got "used" to feel like a sleep deprived PoS. They think if they sleep 16 hours on sunday it'll be alright, but it's not beliieve me. I used to be that person, and once I started to sleep regularly and good hours every night, I suddenly felt so refreshed and fit all the time... Before I never noticed how shit I feel only once I felt better all the time, I noticed the difference. It's huge.

Fuck any work or person, you come first in life and you need to maintain your mental and physical well being as good as possible, and sleep is detremential for both.

Yeah!!!!! 1000 thumbs up!!

Use sleep medication like hydroxyzine or cbd weeds if you can't sleep more than 7 hours.

Or, hear me out, don't cope with drugs and build dependencies but actually work on your sleep issues.

2 main parts are this: You can't use your bed during the day, even if you just sit on it, it's not good. In fact, the whole bedroom should be avoided during the day. It#s a mental thing where your brain associates this place with where you go to sleep. If you use it for other things, it will not get "in the mood" easily.

2nd: GO TO BED AT THE SAME TIME EVERYDAY. This routine will make you sleep like crazily well after a while. You get tired on your own, and onceyou hit the pilows, you just sleep.

I recently flew to london for business, and I had to get up very early to get the flight and make the appointment, so I went ot bed very early, too, and then I was until 6 o clock and hit the feathers in a hostel, and man, I was alone in the room and only slept like 4-5 hours and felt like shit for days after that. I couldn't sleep more, even though I was dead tired. I can't imagine living like this again. Don't do this to yourselves, boys.

Cbd you won't become dependent on it. Hydroxyzine hardly. It's not a benzodiazepine.

Plenty of herbs are available.

There's nothing wrong with pharmaceuticals if you can't control it on your own. I can't but I have 2 personality disorders.

Yeah, the normalization of drugging every issue is completely out of hand these days. All druggies personally identify with their usage and push it on others as actual solutions to issues.

But hey, why work on your posture, if you can get a chiropractor once a week to relief the build up tension and potentially pain?

For me, this conversations ends here. Done too many druggie talks. You can smoke or shoot up, I don't care, to me it's the same as a drink or whatever, but just stop being so pretentious about it. Thanks. over and and out.

I code normally 5 hours at a go then take a nap by coding fun projects, lol, bruh, to avoid sleep, you'd have to encounter am embarrassing bug that you need to fix before sleep and watch time fly
