How do I turn things around?

I am currently unemployed and was hoping to make some income in IM. I have done my homework and read much of the content on this forum. I can honestly say that I am quite equipped with the knowledge needed to make at least a couple of hundred dollars a week. I know that may be nothing to some of you making just as much or even more in a day but for me that would be phenomenal.


Unfortunately, I'm still not able to make any money online due to the fact that most methods require at least some level of investment or promotion in order to set things up but I can't do any of that because of the unavailability of any payment system here where I live (West Africa). No paypal, No credit cards (yeah a few bad nuts spoiled it for everyone of us).


Secondly the internet here is so bad I could literally finish brushing my teeth before Google loads up.


So here I am just sitting in front of my computer like an idiot, knowing everyting I need to do to make it but completely crippled by my circumstances. I can't move out the country because I don't have the resources.


I am pretty sure someone here has been faced with a similar predicament and made it out. Any suggestions to help me make just a little money to sort myself out of this $#!thole because
frankly speaking, there is nothing I won't do.

Definitely not everyone on this site lives in the States or Europe so I know there are others who can relate to what I'm saying.


It could be online or offline I really don't mind.

I think what SkyrocketSEO is saying is, invent a toothbrush that loads the internet the faster you brush.

Jokes aside; there must be something offline that people around you want but don't have, and you can find a way to provide it. Think in terms of what you HAVE access to and put it to work.

Well once i had slow connection internet because High speed was bit expensive, i don't know if you got high speed connection availability at all
I use to work on my bro's PC, i had to manage wake up like 3.00A.M and do my work before 7 because i had to go for school
It was a tough time, i had some experience in pinterest so i started selling it on fiverr, earned couple, bought high speed internet and bought sales thread on Other major IM forums, From there things went up
So first thing you need to do is determine if you are expert in any thing at all, from writing, to graphics, social media knowledge, anything at all, just try to sell it on fiverr because it's free, save couple and buy sales threads on different forums

If you are not expert in anything then try hard to be in one
This is all i can sum up

You can start earning some $$ using fiverr, offer something you are good at, maybe writing articles or graphic designing.

If the internet speed is a problem, are there any local cafes you can go to? I would agree, when you have no $, the quickest way to make a buck is to freelance. Find what you are best at knowledge wise, and sell your services. Once you have a little bit of loot coming in, use it to build your IM empire.

Do easy things that not require any money in. Like ppi and ppd would work great for you. please read some info about these two

So is it just your internet that is bad or is it the same for everyone? One thing about developing countries is that a lot of people use old routers. Badly encrypted WEP networks are everywhere, so just learn how to crack those. Then when you have decent bandwidth you can go further.

Would a VPS be of any use if the internet speed is slow? Just asking

no it wont,
I had tried VPS on slow connection it becomes worse, VPS is surely fast but connection but the images transfer rate through RDP software becomes very very slow, it is likes if you click a button it will show you in 3-4 seconds

I don't know but i think this is the best advice you can take.

I am living in Philippines and i started IM 2 years ago.

At first it was hard, i don't have my own computer + my internet connection is 512 kbps.
but now i have my own computer worth of $1000 and a stable 3mbps connection.
Its just really hard at start. Try to Master stuff just like the advice above.

You can do content writing since once the source articles load up you don't really need much of the internet - let 10 windows start loading, do some choirs, get writing, and it'll give you some start up capital.

As for the payment, not sure which country you are from, but from what I saw in Google maps and 2checkout's website - all the countries from West Africa are supported, so you can use that as a payment gateway and either have them wire it to a bank over there or even get a payoneer card delivered to you (which you can use for online payments) and once you have it you can even accept direct payments to it (deposited via a regular CC).

I will highly advice you to start writing articles. If you don't know where to start, then I would recommend you head on to Fiverr and create a gig and be sure to upload a video with it.
