How do I start making money?

I am in the same boat. I've been out of internet marking since the 90s and so much has changed. I've been back in it for about a month now, learning and digesting as much information as possible. Have 4 websites up and I'm down about $200 in expenses.

There is a lot of useful information on this site, including step-by-step guides. Just search around.

90s!!! seriously? you should get a job or something rather than try these small money making methods. No offense. :confused:
 
A lot of people who do IM have a job, your wrong to assume he doesn't. And IM isn't small money if you do it right. Some people make millions a year from it.
 
Yeah, some people make $5000 - $7000 a day. That's over $1.5 Million - $2 Million a year. Since he's been out for a while, I'm under the assumption he's not one of these people, but he could still have a legit job and use IM as an alternate source of income.

People should just quit replying. If you don't put forth effort then you are not going to make money no matter what you do and you obviously want a handout. If that is the case then you need to already have money to buy sites that other people already setup.

Well, you've got to be innovative and try new things. Personally, I post the download links on YouTube, Facebook, Yahoo! Answers, etc. Basically, social networking sites are the simplest.
However, don't just be limited to these. Look around, try new things, and next thing you know, you could hit a fortune. Maybe find a forum related to the download (i.e. XBox forum for CoD: Free Download). You get it...
Yahoo! Answers are good too because they get ranked really high up on Google. For example, if somebody asks where to get a free PC download of CoD, answer the question with your link and people might see it. You can also do a little blackhatting and create two Answers accounts. Ask a question related to your download with one account, and answer the question with the other. Then, give yourself the best answer... it's free advertising at it's best!
By the time the question gets reported, you could have already raked in the dough; possibly hundreds and thousands.
Anywho, just a couple examples. Just remember, from one noob to another, DO NOT GIVE UP! You know how long it took me to make my first dollar? 5 months of pure thinking and innovation was how long! And now I've got the juices flowing, and the money in the bank.

isn't that game copyrighted? I thought you could only upload files with no copyrights? Would be awesome if i could upload any movie or game i wanted...

How do I start making money?

By starting to read articles and download softwares in BHW. Thats what I have done ;)

Hi Absdragon,

As you may have noticed, there tends to be a kneejerk reaction round here to anyone who turns up asking for simple guidance. It's understandable in some cases, because there are always a handful newbies who just show up and DEMAND to have everything handed to them on a plate... But I don't think you're like that, and I think you deserve more than just to be told to "use the search button", or "go and do something on Fiverr".

You mentioned Adsense, etc. Could I suggest that you check out the "Crashed Challenge", which is a fantastic thread designed to walk you through the basics of setting up a site and monetizing it, not only with Adsense, but with a whole host of other options too (inc. CPA, which is arguably the best way to move beyond the relatively small returns you'll get from Adsense to something more concrete).

Crashed's thread is here in the Making Money section (scroll down, or do a search). You can also find his method laid out in full at http://www.crashedchallenge.info .

It's probably the best way to learn for someone in your position, and it will prove a lot more helpful than listening to a bunch of guys telling you to "try Fiverr".

It was just an example to show him what he COULD do.
But on the other hand, this is a Black Hat forum, and people have done worse things than copyright. Anyhow, if you're BHing, I'm assuming you're going to break a few rules, and if you don't, GL making money (not saying WhiteHatting isn't good, but IMO, BH is easier to make money with than WH).
 
The first money I made was from Clickbank, via YouTube videos.

Simple concept: Pick a Clickbank product to promote. Stick with the 'Make Money' and 'weight loss' niches if you don't have a good one already picked out.

Hire someone on Fiverr to record a short video review of your product. Post that video to YouTube, then SEO the crap out it using various social bookmarking sites like pixelpipe and socialmarker.

Each video, if SEO'd properly, should make you about $50-$100/month. Not a lot, but if you do 20 videos...

There's a lot of good stuff in the "White Hat SEO" section of the forum about setting up websites and optimizing them properly. Study the White Hat stuff before you delve into the Black Hat stuff - otherwise you'll just get confused.

I don't wanna flame your ass too much but I gotta say that you got a helluva lot of nerve to make a post like that.

Here you are asking to be spoonfed by members of this forum on how to make money online... Don't even know what cpa or seo means. But you have the gall to suggest that someone get a job instead of try to get back into a game that they have not done since the 90's.

No Offense but perhaps you should get a job and spend your off days reading the forum cause you are in no position to be giving advice or suggestions to anyone.
