Immersion is usually the best way to see it from the other side, which in turn can change attitudes. I grew up in a very racially charged area, near Ferguson, MO in the states here. I was taught horrible prejudices and once I got out in the world as an adult I realized my thought patterns were ignorant as hell. Watching documentaries, reading stories, and just generally keeping my eyes open showed me why different people speak, act, dress, etc differently. It's to the point now that I hear some things, and it almost hurts me. 99% of the time, actual ignorance is the cause. The simply not knowing why things are the way they are. And just like almost anything that surrounds ignorance, education is the answer.
