I'm still searching for my first SEO client. I got a client but it was a failure, he told to rank it under top 3 and he will pay $2000, i declined as we can't guarantee it will rank under top 3.

I've sent him an email and he replied.

watch on freelancing sites like guru.com. There is always demand and people who need SEO for there website.

Did market research, called him, told him his SEO sucked, showed him his competitors, relevant keywords, and that was that, check in hand - I barely knew what I was doing haha, so easy to impress laymen, really.

Yeah, but I didn't mention how many emails I've sent until someone replied.
tru. i've gotten most of my clients period this way, so. "hey you have a problem" "oh?" "yeah look" end.

freelancer sites sucks, if you think you are really good with SEO or have something great to offer then BHW and similar forums are the best place to start getting clients! unless if you are like most services trying to find clients who are non technical and dont understand nothing to pay you 1000$ per month and you sell them some crap, that wont work easy better dont do it..
