How did you end up on BHW?

I was on another forum similar to this where I made a thread asking about Udemy courses.
On that forum if you typed "udemy" anywhere in your post/thread it was automatically replaced with some text (can't remember what it was).

Of course i didn't know about that and you can imagine i had typed "udemy" many times in my thread so after the automatic replacement it was a real mess.
They banned me because of that, after i had bought their premium membership.

So i was quite upset and didn't give a damn about them anymore, i went looking for a new forum and i was lucky enough to find this one.

I was a member of another forum and someone mentioned BHW so i came here and thought it was interesting and signed up.

Years ago I came across BHW, read a bit and thought it was all just sales bate. Shortly after I got an email from SEMRush, in fact here is a quote from the email I still have:

"On November 15-17, 2014 join host Erika Napoletano at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada as she welcomes the most radical minds in Digital Marketing to the inaugural UnGagged Digital Marketing Conference (sponsored by BlackHatWorld.com)

UnGagged is ripping the gag off of online marketing with never-before-heard, uncensored content from 30 of the top voices in digital marketing, including SEMrush's own Director of Marketing, Michael Stricker!"

So I thought, meh, I another paid upsell and paid it no mind.

Most recently a guy mentioned Holly Sparks on in an FB SEO group so I watched an interview with her in it and she mention two things that blew me away:

1.) She doesnt know how to install/make a Wordpress site and
2.) She started of reading BHW.

From that day on I started reading everything I could find here, signed up and refuse to look anywhere else until I can make IM my 9-5 instead of my 9-5 making me.

PS:Apologies Modz I messed up copy/pasting on that previous post didnt realize the links would be included

I discovered BHW years back while searching for something related to Facebook. After that I used to get at least one result on Google first page from BHW. Eventually I started searching for my queries on Google, attaching blackhatworld after every query. Lol
Finally decided to register last year as some threads, specially downloads, were only visible to registered members.

A friend at school was exploring this website next to me at the computer lab, I kind of looked at what he was doing and decided to make my own account.. 2 years later lol

I first found BHW when i was searching google how to make a porn site lol.
i first found this fourm and then learned how to BOT tumblr accounts and drive traffic to my porn site, It worked until i got a girlfriend and stopped looking at porn every day hahaha

I had made a blogger blog and I was wondering why no one was visiting my site. Then I heard there is something called backlink. So I searched for that and ended up here.

My case is very different. 3/4 years back whatever blackhat stuff I searched on Google BHW used to show up on top. Even it does today. I visited every now and then but never created an account. It's only this year a couple of months back I joined. So far I'm loving it. Posts are high quality and spams are controlled. Very valuable information and great marketplace. I wish I joined the site long before.

At Cafe Nero Heathrow airport having a conversation with a guy. His nephew was addicted to the site, and at the time banked about 15K per month with a simple drop shipping method. I was buidling a division of my Medical SEO agency at the time yet I'd never heard of BHW. The guy suggested that I checked out the site, and I did from the Cafe while waiting for a flight to Spain. Prior forum ownership back then. Lots has changed here since. Still the best SEO forum IMO.

I was on DP a decade ago and I found Scrapebox there. Im not sure that was the exact only reason as its been a long time ago, but scrapebox was a large reason that shifted me here from DP.

i was 16 years of age, year 2009, i want to earn money online, and bhw help me to achieve that.
i have no job and not studying back then.

but now i have a job. and still visiting bhw and now trying to get back to monetizing online.

Most probably was searching for ways to make money online and thus landed here.

BHW 's earliest members were a loose collection of people with severely checkered pasts... think credit card fraudsters, botnet operators and kuwaiti virus programmers. By the mid-2000s, such activities became less ideological and increasingly profit-focused. At the same time, arrests were becoming more frequent and sentences ever more punishing. Slowly and gradually, such people found "online marketing" to be a better way to stay away from prison... and actually make some "legitimate" money in the process. Their skills, all self-taught and simply repurposed from their days in fraud, botnets and viruses, were now being used to create software with functions such as "account creators", "link blasters" and "cookie stuffing". Newly born marketing niches such as Pay Per Install (PPI) were almost entirely filled with former botnet operators.

I come from much the same background.

Things look nicer today. We have ways to use our skills in more meaningful ways. Newer generations are able to pursue online marketing as a professional career.

Nonetheless. RIP to the fallen ones. And to the good old times :)
