how come I know that he is working on my website?

guys recently I hired a guy for e-commerce website, its been 2 days he is saying he talk to domain guy, server guys etc I gave him time one week, he said in a week my website will go on LIVE.

now my question is what's the proof that he really working on my project? what are the evidence i demand from him to make it clear that he is really working on it..

You don't. Not really.

Unless you ask him to provide screenshots of code, etc. But that makes it take longer (know from experience)...

If he didn't send it to you in the time frame. Ask to see the work that's done so far

Ask him some screenshot or video of the working part of the website. If you are not a coder he might fool you by showing any of the code. Better find someone who knows code and get help from him/her to overlook the whole project for you.

Beware of people these day one of my friend lost 10,000/- rupees and nothing was working properly even after 2 months.
