most of the time those aren’t “magic yahoo/bing backlinks.”
what you’re usually seeing is one of these:
– Yahoo syndication (content picked up by Yahoo News via partners like AP, PR Newswire, etc.)
– Bing indexing fast and ranking them for low-comp queries
– Referral spam that looks bigger than it is
– Or they’re running ads and it’s paid traffic, not organic
a backlink from yahoo.com itself is extremely hard to get unless it’s legit news coverage or paid press distribution.
same with bing, bing isn’t giving traffic because of a backlink. it’s just ranking the site in its search results.
if they’re getting real traffic, it’s usually because:
– they rank well in Bing search (less competitive than Google)
– they got picked up by a news aggregator
– or they’re leveraging press releases
check their traffic source in SimilarWeb or Ahrefs, look at whether it says “referral” or “search.”
most of the time it’s not some secret trick, just distribution + rankings.
