How can I be sure this is a scam?

A colleague recommended a platform where you just become a VIP, pay a fee, and you can earn money every day by completing small tasks. I know it's a scam, but I can't prove it. Does anyone have any viral news stories that can prove this?

I always check the website’s stats on Semrush and also look at the domain’s registration date. Sometimes I Google "*website URL* reviews" to see if anyone has posted negative feedback.

I know you still can’t be completely sure whether it’s a scam or not, but at least it gives you more information about the website.

Good tip. I've already tried it. What I really wanted was concrete proof that this is a scam. At the company I work for, more than 30 people deposited 400 BRL. I wanted to help them avoid falling for this scam. But sometimes money speaks louder than reason.

That's a ponzi scheme. Just do a Google search and you will find ton of information about it.

The scam could perhaps be that they never pay you out. Some services tend to have "issues" when paying out and you end up never receiving the payout.

Look for relevant information on search engines and see user reviews. If there is not much information or good reviews, do not risk it.

There are countless examples of this scam, always under a different interface, but it is always the same thing.

It is called the task scam.

Task scams involve a website or mobile app that claims you can earn money by completing easy tasks, such as watching a video, liking a post, or creating an order. A very common characteristic (but not entirely exclusive) is that you have to complete sets of 40 tasks. The app will tell you that you can earn money for each task, but the catch is that you can only do a limited number of tasks without upgrading your account. To upgrade your accounts, the scammers will require you to pay a fee. This makes it a variant of the advance fee scam.

The goal of this scam is to get people to download the app for easy money and then encourage them to pay to get to the next level. It's impossible to get your "earnings" out of the app, so victims will have wasted their time and money. why? your bills won't get paid for being a man of honor. you can't restrict people from being stupid.

FTC and multiple news outlets report “pay to do tasks” schemes where people lose money and cant withdraw.

Pretty much any site promising easy daily money after a VIP fee is sketchy. Most users report losing their cash and never getting paid.
