How big problem is spam score ?

Backlinks from sites with high spam score can harm your websites SEO google may penalize if there is low quality backlinks.
When you have low spam score then it is consider as a trustworthy and reputable sites from search engine.
 
Spam score is there to scare clueless webmasters and website owners into buying 'toxic link removal' services and the like. It isn't used by Google in any way.
 
In my opinion, Spam Score is something which affects the ranking indirectly.Spam score from 3-5% is considered as better and safe
 
60% max for me, but i mostly don't care about moz metric
 
My totally best ranking sites (2) has 28% spam score each.
While sites not ranking has from 2% to zero.

Why you are looking at some most outdated company's metrics such as spam score or DA?

Google does not uses it. And I bet 100% MOZ does not knows how to valuate sites for today's Google's algos.

When you're building links, it's better to pick sites with a low spam score, ideally below 5%, to avoid getting tangled up with sketchy or low-quality websites
 
I would say spam score between 3-6% would be better
 
In my opinion ,It is better to have spam scores up to 5%
 
Spam Score is just the metric. It does not affect the ranking directly. Btw the score between 3-6% is a decent score.

1 % is very good but upto 5% is acceptable.
 
When building links, focus on sites with low spam scores 3-5% to prevent issues and keep your website trustworthy and ranked well.

Through Backlinks and If your site allows user generated content like comments or forums It leads to high spam score when the
comment is spammy or Irrelevant
