How big problem is spam score ?

If you're referring to moz spam score, it is an irrelevant metric that means absolutely nothing. There is no magic number to tell you that domain is good or not.
I have domains with 70% spam score that work just fine and index.
Do history on domain to see if it wasnt used for shady shit, if it wasn't - its fine.

Spam score is just a metric it shouldn't be given all the weightage when auditing a websites link profile.
Use it just as a starting point to analyze the toxic links.
I have websites doing great in terms of a ranking and organic traffic with spam score above 30.
Ideally if the Ahrefs DR is bad and the Moz spam score is also high it's likely to be a bad domain.
Or if the Ahrefs RD and Backlinks ratio isn't normal, and the Moz spam score is also high it's likely to be a bad domain.
Use it just as a starting point to analyze the toxic links.

i think up to 5 % spam scores are better
ok so if the site is my niche relevant and doesn't have any adults shit etc on it its all good ?

In my opinion spam score is crucial in link building. A lower spam score, ideally below 3%, is generally considered acceptable. Higher scores may indicate a risk of spammy practices, potentially harming your site's reputation.

No, what im trying to say is, there are no magic numbers to tell you if a domain is good or not. Moz is especially trash overall, their DA can be spoofed to 50 very easily.
If you have semrush or ahrefs, check their top backlinks, see how many referring domains from different ip address, check if their site is indexed in google, if so, how many links, if a lot then its a good sign. See if its not just hundreds of random backlinks from trashy domains.
If they are receiving organic traffic from google, its also a very good sign for link exchanging.

There are good pbns, but if you see that the backlinks
- arent even indexed
- urls are random nonsense or very long
- website looks like trash
- website is filled with links to other sites
- it has adult, gambling, escort, crypto, hyip, drugs sale etc.
You want topical backlinks.

Look into the website manually yourself with a backlink checker.
Spam score is an outdated (useless) metric.

I bought a domain with 60% spam score, I didnt know this at the moment when I bought it. For 2 weeks I started adding 3 articles per day on it, and so far no traffic from search engines. I saw only few impressions on google search started. Is it a good sign? Should i continue to add content on it? Or should I stop adding content until I see some search engine traffic? Thank you

when you buy a backlink these metrics are just for sorting the sites, then you will check manually and after your manual check you make the decision ignoring the metrics that made you choose the site.

I would say below 3-5% of spam score is always better for a backlinks site. It doesn't count as i is just a metric.
