How bad is Godaddy hosting? Alternative?

I'm currently with hostgator. I've never been with godaddy, but just hearing the amount of negative feedback they get is enough to keep me away from them.

Hostgator ftw. I find it pretty sick how they even fixed one of my wp sites the other day lol

I'm with godaddy and it is blazing fast for me - never been down either.

I had Godaddy steal a couple of domain names from me for some lame excuse. I will never do business with them again even if what they offer is free - Caveat Emptor [Buyer Beware]

I've used go*da*ddy to run 7 wordpress sites for over a year now... and it sucks... Why?
Well:

- Worst Support ever!!! Seriously... they can take DAYS to get back to you regarding simple questions with answers like: "I'm sorry but we can't help you there, contact a professional web designer"
- Expensive! They have hidden costs everywhere...
- lieing f**ks: I used a promo action to get webhosting with unlimited emails for one year, suddenly overnight (after a few weeks) I could only have 1!! email per domain, they deleted all but one (info(at)...)... beforehand I had 5 or even 10 for one domain.
- slowest ftp servers i've seen sind '99
- stealing f**ks: I have auto renewal for all my domains.. the one with the most traffic and a good name was suddenly not auto renewed and offered on go*da*ddy auctions for 780$... they never even replied to my emails regarding that...

I'm not using them again ever! Except to buy domains, they have tons of coupons/promo codes and i've never payed more than 2-3$ for my domains.

They good for domain registration, but never used them as a hosting provider. Have seen some bad reviews.

godaddy hosting works really slow, very bad one

I would say go with namecheap, since I have heard that they offer free private registration for every domain registration. That is kind of 'road less traveled' , I have heard offers domain private registration for free

namecheap is good if the hosting have 50% promotion

I think its all relative, I have nothing but good to say about Goddady. Quick domain registration, I get my sites online and indexed quick and no down time. Support has been good to me and I have been with over the last 10 years. Just start out small month to month, if it works keep going if not move on to another hosting company.

I've had problems with them as unfortunately I have to work with most hosting services. I wouldn't recommend them.
As said before there are loads of alternatives but I prefer (If you don't want dedicated) A small orange.

Honestly, I use it only to register my domains. You can try hostgor or bluehost for hosting

I have a below average experience with GoDaddy hosting. Their domain service is great, but their hosting service is pretty bad I think... The sites stay online most of the time, but sometimes they are quite slow. If you ask them about it, they will tell it's because the server they are on is old, and you should move them to a newer server... which involves creating a new hosting account with them, paying again, transferring the sites yourself, etc. ... What?
