Hi Guys,

Currently I have a hosting with Servinio and its good so far. Now I am planning to make a bunch of small sites and looking for an unlimited domain + space + bandwidth type offer. I can't afford an annual plan, I need quarterly or half yearly. Long story short, Godaddy Deluxe hosting package matches my needs.

So how bad is it? I have seen some serious negative words about Godaddy hosting here at BHW and I value comments coming from this community a lot.

I am going to make small Wordpress blog sites, they shouldn't make much server load. But I still want a reliable host, looking for something long term if I can survive the first few months in my IM journey.

So should I avoid Godaddy totally or they are tolerable? What are my alternatives considering my budget?

Thanks in advance :)

I have free hosting from godady and I never use it. They don't have cpanel and my site is very slow. Stay away from this company its domains and hosting suck.

GoDaddy is pretty horrible.

+1 for HostGator for shared hosting (Have a few accounts with them)

I can't afford Hostgator no matter how good they are. Is there any cheaper (below 5$/month) reliable webhost that offer unlimited plans and accept quarterly / half yearly payment?

Help me please!

+1 for hostgator
They give you all the tools you need even with the lowest cost package and it is perfect if you aren't planing to do some very shady stuff

Yes I know Hostgator is the Gem ! Unfortunately their Baby plan is 8$ / month and I can't afford it. I don't understand why those webhosts increase their price so high when you pay for less period of time.

Definitely Hostgator, I've done business with them and they are awesome. Stay away from GoDaddy's hosting!

Ok so decision made I am staying away from Godaddy.

How about Netfirms? I had a hosting with them before, never had a problem except I had to call them for authentication. I found promo code for 2.50 $ / month (36$ yearly) -- that I can afford. They have a free domain plus unlimited everything except only 5 mysql db. So what do you think, are they good?

Try some of the providers here, or if none suit your needs try webhostingtalk, there's a good few cheap (and reliable) offers there.

Try Stablehost! They even accept adult sites on their US servers, but you should ask them beforehand. It is really stable. there are 50% off one time and 25% lifetime discount coupons available.

I have only one site with them and the host used to be very slow + used to go down quite often (true, jsut for a few minutes each time), but something changed about 10 days ago and now everything is perfect, I hope it stays that way

I use goddaddy at the moment and I wish that I never switched form hostgator, when godaddy has a problem with there servers they will blame it on you and the problem will take forever to fix, with hostgator they fix any problems very fast and have great support. Godaddy clams to have a 99.9% up time but I use pingdom to let me know when the site is unreachable and that happens all the time.

I am with godaddy for most of my sites...i doubt its time to change

Well if Hostgator with ~9$ a month is too much, you can try this provider (www.arvixe.com) I have never used them but i remember a member from here suggested it. They seem cheap also and if the ad is right, they give you a free domain also

Hostgator has proven to be more reliable than most when it comes to shared hosting.

For shared hosting go with hostgator. One of my accounts pushes 150 gigs of http bandwidth and I only pay 10$ a month. They also have good chat support and phone support. I also have a few dedicated accounts with them as well and had 0 issues.
