Nice logo, but just like you said yourself, The text in the logo could use some extra work.
But after all, great designing !

Why is some watermark in the backgroun? Looks like it doesn't belongs there. Also the black background at the bottom and the right site looks like from MS paint, very poor quality - you can see a big pixels there.
And the letter "S" in word "Gamers" looks deformed.

The shadow or whatever it is behind the ball is somewhat strange. The font and its color are not quite fitting in the picture too, IMO.

I would tighten up the edges on the banner - specifically the left side edge - it looks very jagged and like you just tried to get the background removed without paying attention to how it was removing part of the actual image.

there is good and bad always. As per my view it is a pretty good design if you are a newbie to PS.
