Hi

Is anyone upgrading to the new iPhone 6S?

I've been an iPhone user all my life and have owned the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5S (+ other models). Recently, I was seriously thinking of switching to the new Galaxy S6 as it had many features iPhone 6 was missing (such as rapid battery charging, almost twice the data speed, more RAM, faster graphics processor etc).

However, the new iPhone 6S looks impressive. It's smaller than the Samsung 6S (which is a plus for me, but may not be for everyone), better camera etc. But this doesn't mean too much for me. The main thing that draws me to the new iPhone is the fact that it is suppose to be 70% faster CPU than the iPhone 6 and 90% faster in terms of GPU. This means it easily kicks the Galaxy 6S in terms of speed (as comparisons of iPhone 6 to Galaxy 6S was almost identical).

What are your thoughts guys? Do you plan on upgrading to the iPhone 6S? Why and why not? And most importantly what do you own right now - a Galaxy or an iPhone?

IPhones are a ripoff there's no point getting the 6S. The camera isn't better than the samsung galaxy s6 and they screen resolution isn't even close to what the S6 offers.

I make an effort to convince my friends and family to switch from iphone to samsung.

Ive converted 13 people so far (yes i keep count lol) and they are all happy they switched to the samsung.

My only concern about switching to Samsung is that I've heard apps crash regularly and its unstable OS - is this true? Otherwise I see many benefits going with Galaxy..

Nah i've been using samsung phone the past few years and as for the s6 the apps don't crash that much. Their OS has been a lot more stable for the s6 as well.

I am the owner of a microsoft lumia 640XL and i'm very happy :) huge screen, no lag, fast, very long battery life and great camera. :)

I am thinking about upgrade from the 5S to the 6S Plus, I need bigger screen that the 5S, anyway I liked the new 3D Touch feature, looks really useful... I don't think that the iPhones are a ripoff, the interaction between all the apple products it's awesome and unique.

I just wish someone would make a "manly" phone with alot of power. Lately the big trend in electronics has been making them so light weight and thin. A phone with the length and width of a of the galaxy note series or iphone plus series but the depth of something like the Palm LifeDrive could easily pack in way more processing power than these "toys" can. The Iphone 6s is only 7.1mm thick and Iphone 6s Plus is only 7.3mm thick. The Palm Life Drive had a 19mm thickness.

just finished watching keynote and Ill stick with my 6s for another year I guess didn't much like changes besides the "live pictures" that thing was cool remind me harry potter stuff lol
but I defiantly will get that Apple TV with siri and touch remote built in that's was super impressive
and that ipad pro with 4 speakers in it got to have it )) hurry up October so I can start ordering this stuff already ))

Im going to wait until the benchmarks come out by Mid Nov before deciding if I want one. They marketing with such bullshit on how good their product is. They are also are being quiet on how much ram the ipad pro has, if its not at least 4GB of ram its a joke of a product. Anything under 4GB of ram is nearly useless in 2015,especially for a product marketing towards professionals.

Supposedly, the A9X is more powerful than 80 percent of portable PCs released in the past year -- that's a bold claim that we'll want to verify for ourselves, but it's certainly promising.

There are alot more portable pc's that are so cheap,so that doesn't actually tell any kind of performance. How will it stack up with the new skylake i7 mobile processors.

I agree with this 100%. I'd personally prefer an iPhone that's thicker and more powerful than an ultra thin iPhone. And considering the fact that most of the iPhone is battery the extra thickness could be used for a much more powerful CPU.

I think we will never know how the A9 chip performs in real life until the benchmarks come out. We need to wait until someone gets their hands on one of these..

I'm just wondering what is the most critical factor for you when determining whether you buy a iPhone 6S or a Galaxy S6? For me it's the size of the phone (not thickness but width and length)

Why does it always have to be iphone or samsung? For me oneplus one does a great job.

I regret Steve Jobs' vision of products. I'm a big Apple fan (they milked me), but to be honest I'm getting really disappointed with each new Keynote. It seems like Apple is now just a balance of Android. I haven't seen any new real improvement or innovation. They muscles the specs, add 2/3 fancy features like live photos and beside that, everyhting else is already available in the competition.

10 years ago Apple was really an innovative brand, today it's just a luxury brand.

I just hate how they are imitating other brands then fake "invention"

Exactly what don't you have on your phone/tablet that you'd die for some company to make?

What I'm saying more than a lack of something that I need, is the lack of needs creation. Steve Jobs (or his team at the time) was champion for creating something that people would need, but those people never thought of it. When they brought the iPod it just changed the music industry. When they brought the iPhone and the Appstore, same.

They now assume their leadership and they are not taking much more risk. They have huge pressure from the stockholders to get astonishing results each quarters. They gave up their part of risk & innovation, and their focus is clearly towards their production line costs & profit margin. I'm not saying i wouldn't do the same, but I'm nostalgic of those times when I was AWWW in front of steve jobs presenting an amazing feature or product evolution.
