Hostwinds vs Hostgator? Need specific review..

Hostwind vs Hostgator for ultimate basic/baby plan?

Talked to Peter about running a VPS with them, and he was great to talk with. I'm going to end up paying less than half of what I would with a Hostgator VPS.

Not that I think hostgator is a bad company, I love them, but if plenty of other people are happy with hostwinds, its a no-brainer if you want to save some money every month. Plus their domain registry is cheaper with free privacy.

I haven't tried hostwind, but my experience with hostgator has been pretty positive. Their customer support seems to be pretty helpful for me.
 
I have coupons for hostwinds if somebody wants.
FIRSTFREE is 99% discount for the first month
25OFFVPS is for 25% discount on VPS the first month
I wonder why don't the Hostwinds crew advertise them somewhere

The only thing that's fishy is the fact that Hostgator has 2 people voting for it who both have 0 posts, and one of the voters only has 3 posts, and joined 3 days ago.

I'm sorry you think were a one man team with one server. We just hired our first full time USA employee, we don't outsource like the other guys.....we actually CARE about personal customer service and support. I'm sorry but when we were first mentioned on black hat world, you said we were a host for the shit list. I still haven't forgotten about that, anyhow you continually promote Hosterbox, a company that can't even afford to buy an unbranded WHMCS, and is actually BANNED from web hosting talk, that sounds pretty shitty to me.

17 servers listed there + the server not listed used to run Hostwinds.com, we have 10 servers that are launching next week bringing our grand total up to 28 servers (27 client servers).

We haven't done anything but try and help people and offer great customer service, and it really offends me when people like yourself say negative comments for no reason. We try our best to work hard to do great things, you should spend less time trying to bring others down, and more time trying to bring yourself up. Just my 2cents.

Have you tried disabling plugins one by one to see if heavy resource usage stops? You should not need to upgrade your hosting plan if you find and eliminate the plugin causing the heavy usage?
 
Hostwinds with hostgator? this hostwind server didnt even load a single page today. I wasted my money, he has 60days money back guarantee (no question asked) but he refused to pay.
Very poor support once the account is setup and he receives money he does't reply.

I wont recommend, The free hosts are still better than fucking hostwinds.

Go to their homepage its not even loading properly, VERY SLOW SERVER. The hostgators resellers are better than him.

I found him purely scam.
along with the server the guy is himself cheap.

Your obviously just a jealous hater, please give me your payment info so I can have a refund processed for you, but you wont be doing that because you aren't even a client.

You have never had and do not currently have web hosting with us, or you just dont know how to send an email to [email protected] requesting a refund.

Why are they banned from web host talk? I did a search but couldn't find anything. At least I wasn't able to find any threads saying they were banned.

Only reason I ask is because I use Hosterbox. I only have two sites with them but so far they've been good to me.

Also, what is a WHMCS? (sorry, kind of a newb)

Just a nee-jerk reaction, I guess, but just between the two of them, I'd go with Hostwinds, I just looked at their site, that $5.50 deal is amazing and I've heard people say that Hostgator is shitty.

WHMCS is a billing management system that web hosts use to help mange their business it only costs a measly $80 to unbrand it (IE Remove the pwoered by WHMCS at the bottom, any real web hosts have already done this)
 
Hostwinds are preparing cloud hosting right now.
And hostgator is a damn big company, they don't giva fuck about you with your baby plan 0.1$\month accs.. (no offence there!)
 
I always have a good experience good with Hostgator, they are professional and gives special attention in case if you have any problem.

I am not sure about hostwinds how good they are , but I have seen Wordpress is recommending hostwind and they are not nerd who will refer to any company which is running on one server . :)

I kept getting hacked by Arabs when I was hosted with hostwinds and they weren't able to stop it so they just suspended my account...nice

I have yet to have problems with hostgator and they actually removed the phishing scripts that hostwinds couldn't do for some reason
 
That is the thing which stops me from discontinuing Hostgator services. They do not compromise with their customer care services, which I like the most. I have encountered few problems with my website .... they took it seriously unlike any other hosting provider and resolve the issues within no time....
