Hostwinds vs Hostgator? Need specific review..

Looking to subscribe new hosting..

Hostwinds (Ultimate BASIC Plan: $5.50 per month)

vs

Hostgator (Baby Plan : $9.95 per month)

Hostgator seems ok..
but if hostwinds can provide me same specs and service at the lower rate..
so can be considered too..

Hmmmmm...

Hostgator baby. You can find many good reviews about hostgator on this forum, about hostwinds... not sure.

Hostgator has been really good to me... even have received complaints for spamming a few times and they have not shut me down.

if you hosting auto blogs then go for hostgator's baby or hostwinds' ultimate business plan. Hostwinds' ultimate basic is not for autoblogs...I had only 1 auto blog with hostwinds ultimate basic but my account often got suspended due to "Excessive Resource Usage". I just transfer the blog to Justhost ($32 per year) today,just to test if it would be suspended (as with hostwinds) or not.

I've been using the Host Winds business plan for months now. I have several Adsense sites up and running. You need the business plan ($6.50), instead of the $5.50/month. I use to use HostGator but was banned for using ScrapeBox on one of my domains.

I find that hard if not impossible to believe, We have some users on our baby plan with multiple autoblogs, if you have a lot of autoblogs posting a LOT, then resource usage can become an issue but unless you have around 8 autoblogs or so, then resource usage will not become an issue, If your really wanting to run an autoblog empire, then get the business package, you can run FAR more autoblogs than Hostgator would ever dream of letting you run, Hostgator would be up selling you on their top level VPS's long before you ever reach the plateau of our business plan, In fact most of the people who are using too many resources for a business plan switch to a level 5+ VPS, because any lower simply can not handle their sites. Although cheap is good but you have to look at it's uptime as well. One thing i would like to confirm is, is hostwinds a one man team company or a company with plenty of staffs?

Speaking on behalf of Hostwinds I have a 4 VPS's with them and have had 0 downtime and I have 3 clients that are on their shared servers and have had one problem resulting in a 10 min downtime and it turned out to be faulty scripts.

I am proud to be hosted by them because the owner is the first host I have been with that took any and all down time personally. even if it isn't the fault of him or his team.

You get brownie points for being a BHW member but that page isn't really a very good advertisement for your product. 5 day uptimes on your shared servers and you've only got 12 dedicated servers? Doesn't look good from a prospective customer's POV.

Hosts winds is killer, ive been with them for over a year now. I have a regular account and one vps accounts. They are super inexpensive and have incredible USA support.

We keep our systems up to date, we just upgraded all of our systems with the latest kernels and bug patches. We want to keep everyone sites secure, and fast so we do what it takes to keep things up todate. Kernel upgrades require a reboot.

I have hosting at hostgater and hostwinds, I perfer hostwinds as there cheaper. the owner is a cool guy, and they have pretty good support.

Hostwinds is pretty good if you aren't hosting autoblogs. Hostgator on the other hand, is better for autoblogs and hosting hundreds of sites. if you can afford both though, I would strongly suggest subscribing to both.

I really like Hostwinds web hosting, they have done nothing but help me from day 1, I wouldn't be where I am today without their amazing support. I never tried hostgator, but hostwinds only keep improving and getting more flexible, so i'll just stay with them
