Hostwinds problem

I been using a tier 5 VPS on hostwinds and running GSA SER on it, today i recieved a message and they shut down my vps providing this message:

Amr, VPS with the IP ########### has been shutdown you can re-start it from your VPS control panel on your client product page. Your server was using excessive DiskIO usage, which was causing a high load on the node your server resides on. Our next action would be account suspension and we would like to give you the opportunity to resolve the issue before that becomes our only option. Otherwise we will require you to upgrade to a Dedicated server to avoid further disruption to our clients on the node your server resides on.

It looks like gsa was draining resources hardly but can't i use the resources i paid for to the fullest? I dont even know what should i do to avoid this again. Has anybody recieved a similar message? Or do you have a solution?

I know about this shit. A friend of mine also got the same message from them. I doesn't make sense why they send this message when you have paid for a service.

Shop around and look for a better alternative.

Or contact them, maybe you can sort it out, if not then plan B ^ (shop around).

I just talked to their customer service and they really insist on getting a dedicated server, but i cannot get a dedicated server right now its overpriced for my budget.

Try getting a Windows SSD, it's much faster and doesn't take that kind of IO usage. I have the same issue as yours, it seems GSA is a power hungry software. Try it out for a month and you'll see the difference.

This is part of Hostwind marketing strategy. They will bait you with discount and once you are on their VPS or shared hosting plan, they will constantly prompt you to upgrade. For GSA usage, it would be better if you use an old desktop and run it from your home with proxies. It is so much cheaper and you will always be in control.
