Anyone else got a site on hostwinds shared server? Mine'e been down for a while now and I guess it's early in the US.. I thought they had 24/7 support though.

I've got the same issue with a few of my sites..
Peter isn't answering me on skype and support chat is down..
Quite lame.

My all sites are up atm, but this downtime does happens with me and it has become some what more frequent than before. :/

Yeah, it's down for me as well if you are on the NS1\2 servers.

Yeah on shared1 I think, quite annoying. BHW seems to be messing up a bit as well.. thinking about moving. My emails from that domain go straight to the spam box cos of all you scammers :D

I think that is why BHW has been slow this past hour, but it is all good now,
in the UK at least :)

Wow, just realized Hostwinds hosts BHW. That's awesome.

Hostwind is a joke. I would not recommended them. I tried their VPS lv6 and cant even beat a hostgator shared server.
They just simply suspend your account and ask you upgrade further when your traffic is heavy. For Hostgator they will solve the problem up but not hostwinds, they will just force you to upgrade.
And the best part is the 90days refund is a joke, they will find thousands of excuses to refuse refund.
Peter is the most unfriendly person in hostwinds I can say.
Hostgator still the best for me =)

I am sorry that you did not like our service, however having spoken with you on skype, and seeing the same name here I know who you are. I am sorry that we did not work out for you, and that we asked you to upgrade. I did not mean to offend you or make you upset in any way, I was simply letting you know that when your website gets in the range of 50,000-250,000 streaming video views a day, a level 7 VPS is not where you want to be, and we can not guarantee a 99% uptime when your VPS isn't powerful enough to handle your website.

I am actually shocked that Hostgator is allowing you to push this kind of traffic, you must be a really good negotiator, I wish you all the best in the future.

Good lord, HostGator is allowing that on a shared?

Something tells me that he is going to be getting a shitload of pm's...

How bad is it for my serps when my sites are not even available? This is the second time in a month that my sites have been completely offline due to hostwinds going down. The last time I called them they said it would be up in 20min but it was actually hours. I tried to do a live chat to get an estimate of when it would be back but the live chat is disabled right now too!

The worst part is that I had two sites on the first page of Goog with them and now idk where they will be when they are available again. It's also BS that Sat/Sun are when I get most of my traffic and that's when they've gone down both times. OK, sorry for the rant.

Does anyone have experience with how much serp movement I can expect from having sites unavailable and how quickly they might regain the rank they had before the outage?

Your server should be back online within 5 minutes
