Hosting Strategy, Please Help!

I've been reading about it for the last couple of days but I don't see clear what would be the best hosting strategy I should use, so hopefully your experience can help me...

Im starting 2 projects, one exclusively for spanish market and one worldwide but main clients should come from US. Each project will have one authority site selling a service and to start 5 other sites targeting related kws. I have spent considerable cash creating the main sites, they offer very unique services, will be getting good SEO packages for them, unique articles released daily, good social following is building.... So we are expecting both sites to get busy quick.

My main questions are:

1) what kind of hosting would you recommend me to get? Bearing in mind I haven't got any server setup knowledge, I'm not technical at all.

2) is proximity to clients important? Should i use a hosting in spain for my spanish project and a US hosting for the international project?

3) I read that lots of people here use hostgator shared hosting... Would that be suitable for me? I really don't mind spending a bit more money to get a faster site! I was looking at VPS but due to my luck of knowledge I think that option may be not suitable for me

4) should I get a dedicated ip for each project?

I would really appreciate if I could get some advice, as you can see I'm a bit stuck! Thanks in advance

I personally would go with a VPS. VPSes are so cheap nowadays... I use shared hosting only when i need IP diversity for some test projects or something like that..

Proximity is not that important as speed and reliability. If you have really good spanish host, use it, if not choose international one with great speed and uptime.

About different IPs.. i don't know.. it all depends on the the type of your sites, but take in mind nowadays different IPs aren't that important as it used to be before couple of years

You can get a managed VPS, so you won't be doing anything different than adding/maintaining your sites like you do with a shared hosting, while the host staff will configure anything else you need.. Also if you get your VPS with Cpanel, it is absolutely easy to learn to administrate it by yourself

ofcourse, if you feel you can't handle that, go with a shared hosting or whatever you are comfortable with

VPS is the Best Choice I can Help you in this you can get a VPS with open source control panel and I will do the maintenance side

Thats sounds like the perfect option cheers, what managed vps provider would you recommend?

umm, don't know which one to recommend you really, as i am administrating everything myself and never been looking for a managed solution

maybe someone else around can point you..
