Hostgator totally CRAP - CONFIRMED

Never had any major problems with HG besides a few minor down times.

+1 For ASmallOrange I love their tech support people and they have never given me a single problem/issue ever! (Been with them for 2 years now)
 
You just realized that? It's was last feb or march when their downtime took almost 24 hours proves they are hell total crap!
 
This is retarded. Online from mobile, so could not read all the posts. Did you have a vps with them? I have used inmotionhosting before. They are not too good either. Try godaddy's hosting even if you hate them. I am with them currently and i must say... They have improved a lot.

yep.... moved this week to another host after 4 years of loyalty. They have become totally crappy.
 
We finally moved off of HG too.

I've had sites on http://www.inmotionhosting.com/ for 7 years, haven't had any problems and their support is much quicker than HG's by far. I wouldn't recommend them for VPS or Dedicated servers. They cap the user agents on VPS's. We had problems when we tried running a light weight URL shortener script through their VPS.

I'd also recommend OVH. We have a couple of dedicated servers with them and haven't any issues.
 
Stablehost: hosting hundreds of sites there for years. Never got an issue. I have many accounts. Support is awesome. Even on their smallest shared hosting account, using heavy cpu resources will not cause any problem.
 
If you make some good money from your site/s then just get a cheap dedicated server which is better than shared and vps or just get on a cloud account to seamlessly expand without downtime and forget shared hosting.
 
Hostgator is crap. Using W3 Total Cache is a real pain with them (apart from many other problems).

Hostgator is just fucked up. I was a hostgator fanboy before, recommended it to everyone... well, I hate them now.
 
I used to supporting Hostgator as well but they are dead to me now. They suspend my sites every now and then...
 
I'm currently with hostgator because i happened to find a really good coupon and just bought hosting for 3 years at once, but i had a bunch better experience with hawkhost, they were solid.
 
I used to promote Hostgator as well but no more.
I moved everything to Hostwinds a short while ago and have had no problems at all.
 
100% agree with OP. They did same to me, i did not have many sites nor bandwith, suckers....i changed all my affiliate reviews, hostgator down to road...
 
If you can manage your VPS, get DigitalOcean hosting, they're my personal favourite when it comes to VPS. For shared hosting, I don't have much experience, but liquidweb has probably the best reputation in the field.
 
I have same problem with long outage, suspension in hostgator and moved all my website to godaddy business host now.
 
Ex-HG fanboy here too. I still have one account on there because its just an old messy account I can't be bothered to move. But HG is a pile of shit now. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Yeah, Servio is good (both uptime & support, and quite cheap). I think the owner is a Jr.VIP on BHW.

I hope this thread displays at the top of Google when people look for HG reviews! Serious PR flop! :eek:
