Hostgator shared hosting - all my websites are down

HG will send you an email if there is any scheduled maintenance. I used HG for 7 years when the traffic increased they suspended my account and gave the reason that you are using our resources. I moved to the Reseller account and was okay but the server was going offline frequently.

I left HG 4 years ago and now I am happy.

HG is for starters and newbies.

$6 p/month per site?
$6 p/month for this...

...and you can host as many applications (WordPress sites) as you want within those resources.

This is for unmanaged hosting. If you want a Vultr High-Frequency plan but manage, you will need to go to Cloudways. There, these same plans are twice as expensive.

But, you will have access to many more features like those highlighted in the blue box.

Also, on the next tier of hosting, you will have access to the Object Cache Pro which is a cache plugin at the database level which will make your site FLYYYYYYYYYYY!!!

digital ocean have a 4 core/8gb ram server with $40/mo and you can install object cache and php cache yourself easy.

One word, Hostgator, nothing more to say.

Well, maybe there is more to say, you are smarter than to use them, especially knowing some of your businesses.

Could it be looooove or be loooove haha :D

Thanks bro I appreciate it.

Maybe I switch when my 3-year package expires in November. That's exactly on Black Friday days, so maybe I can get some massive discount on a better host around that time.

Cheers :)

Why wait until November to fix something that is broken today?

The few dollars are not going to change your life but the hosting issue(s) can cause a cash flow issue.

My .02 which has a value of .014 based on current economic situations.

Well, see, because it ain't broken, right?

My sites are up, we're working, we're handling business.

Sure, we get banned for CPU usage, then we have unannounced downtime, then I suspect we get lied to by support about the nature of the downtime, then our sites are kinda slow sometimes because of the slow server, etc.

So it's not all fun and games, but for the most part the sites are up and running, and we get exactly what we paid for.

One of the good things about me is that my business isn't reliant on my websites having 100% uptime anymore. Meaning, I'm not gonna lose a handful of massive resellers I have buying my services. Those people don't even visit my website. And if they do and it's down for a few minutes, they're not gonna go looking for someone else to provide them what only I provide ;) :D

This is unlike back in the day when I had my little site and spammed the internet, and it was important for my sites to be up all the time because that random dude that I spammed on Twitter or Soundcloud or found me on quora or a blog post where I left a comment, he can't be visiting my site for the first time and not being able to access it. We lost him right there.

But anyway, of course any downtime bothers me and we'll cross that bridge when November comes.

YOU DESERVE That

So harsh and im so sensitive. Why the CAPS bro you hurt my feelings bro? :weep:

haha :p

This is an overkill in my opinion...Too many resources but, again, I don´t know what are OP´s server requirements/needs.

with $40/mo
I don´t know what is OP´s monthly budget when it comes to hosting.

My best bet is, that it isn´t much since he´s with Hostgator.

and you can install object cache and php cache yourself easy.
How? As far as I know, the Object Cache Pro WP plugin is $95 p/month.

I'm on hostgator as well, what you recommend the switch to
ALWAYS try to avoid any hosting company from the EIG conglomerate.

Hosting companies like...
  • Hostgator
  • iPage
  • Bluehost
  • PureHost
  • eHost
  • FatCow
  • Among hundreds of others
When it comes to hosting, my top choices are...

Cheaper Alternatives
More Expensive Alternatives

Why wait until November to fix something that is broken today?
Listen to the man!

No no no... I remember hostgator from my teens, what a shit host. Believe it or not but as much as I abhorr my country I have better (and cheaper) hosting here. With hostgator I always had smth hacked or down. Never again. Change host to a real hosting...

Hostgator has been trash since they were bought out by EIG. They were alright before that. EIG has a reputation for ruining a lot of web hosting companies they bought out.

Go for Amazon AWS, Use lightsail service inside dashboard. there’s literally a free tier. And they will give you $1k credits if you have an actual business if you fill the startup form.

i dropped hg 6 years ago due to their downtime and i would never go back there. currently i'm looking for a new host since my current one is starting to give me problems and their support is not as good as it was.
