Any Hostgator reviews online about their service being good are all lies. I can not believe the crap that I continue to go through with hostgator. It is getting to the point where I am about to buy my own server as I can not take the incompetent employees of this company anymore. I have been complaining about them for too long so now I am wasting more time talking about them because I have had enough and want to warn others who actually have successful online businesses to STAY AWAY FROM HOSTGATOR!

I have several websites that receive thousands of visitors daily and to get these guys to quit tweaking with my server settings has become more than I can bare anymore. They literally go into my server put coding into my htaccess files, put a few lines of coding in them and it stops my sites from making money. I do not know how the world they are able to legally do this, they told me it was because I was using too much bandwidth EVEN THOUGH anyone who pays for hostgators services pays for unlimited bandwidth, this is all lies. The last thing you get is unlimited bandwidth with hostgator, so once the hostgator staff told me actually no we limit you i said ok how do I stop you all from messing with my sites? The guy with hostgator said oh, just purchase the dedicated server I said if I do that will my problems be solved? He said yes! So i purchased the dedicated server and since then the problems ONLY GOT WORSE. I have had my server hacked, HUNDREDS OF SPAM EMAILS coming in, they did not transfer all my files over so my sites were literally offline for 1-2 days WHICH is so UNACCEPTABLE and then when I tell them you all owe me MONTHS of free service because of the losses I have suffered due to your ignorant and unknowledgeable employees they short of told me to go F@#* myself because they see I have over 30 domains with them and they know what kind of money and time would be involved moving everything to another server. The only thing they told me about the ungodly amount of spam emails I am getting is that I should GO BUY another piece of software because the FREE EMAIL SPAM CRAP THEY SUPPLY IS CRAP FOR ONE AND FOR TWO is the only thing they can recommend when fixing spam emails from coming in. I said the spam assassin you have is crap and for the amount of money i spend you would think they would fix my issues but instead the ignorant customer representative from hostgator said I am not familiar with outside services and i will have to spend more F-ING time trying to research and find a spam guard that will suit my needs. WTF KIND OF RESPONSE IS THAT?!?

My Hostgator reviews and anyone elses hostgator reviews they decide to post here are WELCOME as I cant believe what the IN WORLD is going on but I do know our voices need to be heard because the only way hostgator is going to be worth a crap or fix their problems is by us customers posting reviews. The people who are benefiting from hostgator are the ones first starting off and want to try to make an online business work as their websites dont receive any traffic and all they are doing is hosting a website with hostgator. Anyone I have spoken with who actually owns a successful website(s) and receive from a few visitors to others like me where I receive thousands of visitors a day from my websites do not use and absoutely HATE HOSTGATOR and have posted their hostgator reviews all online on other forums to spread the word.

The only value that hostgator brings are to the noobs online as they are the biggest rip off hosting company I have ever dealt with and is why I am posting this hostgator review to make certain to those who would be buying these dedicated servers, which is where hostgator makes their real money from to take your business to another hosting company. The people at hostgator will never solve any problems only create more headaches and then get you so mad that you finally waste more time writing a hostgator review about their company because one can only take so much before one goes clean the heck off. If anyone would like proof of my support tickets please let me know as I will be more than happy to share I just want to get this review posted as fast as huminaly possible to get others to go to other hosting companies in hopes hostgator will get their crap together and stop hiring entry level employees and actually fix problems instead of creating more problems, like they have and still are with my sites.

HOPEFULLY THIS HOSTGATOR REVIEW WILL PERSUADE PEOPLE THINKING ABOUT USING HOSTGATOR SERVICES TO GO TO ANOTHER HOSTING COMPANY AS THE LAST THING I WANT TO SEE IS MORE PEOPLE GETTING SCREWED OVER WHEN RUNNING SUCCESSFUL ONLINE BUSINESSES AND THE WAY THEY WILL GET SCREWED OVER IS USING HOSTGATOR HOSTING SERVICES.

This hostgator review keeps getting worse. So hostgator knowing this and knowing the issues it is causing all of us still acted like it was not their fault, not offering any compensation for our losses and then basically short of telling me to go F myself is THE EXACT reason why I cant wait to get away from this company. Unbelievable

Their terrible service is common knowledge among experienced hosting users. Nobody with good sense should ever recommend HG.

The obvious reason why people still use HG's services is because of their wide reach. Anyone who does not do any in depth research has a pretty good chance of running into them.

I hope you find a better web hosting provider. There are plenty of them out there.

yeah, its probably not only hostgator that sucks
I have registered with bluehost in january for fkng expensive shared package 7,95 really/month
now they aren't the worst probably, but I had tons of issues with bluehost
script installs, servers too slow, etc

People on wickedfire call out others to boycott EIG companies, so I will try to get the f* out as soon as I can

HostGator is one of the best in the industry. I have had several accounts with them for nearly 8-9 years now. Since they were sold to EIG I heard that the services somewhat deteriorated for some but it was fine for me. I do not ask for support much as I do most things myself. Maybe I have contacted support less than a dozen times in all these years. But found them online on quick chat whenever I had any problem.

After having used several hosts starting from shared hosts to reseller to VPS to dedicated server for more than a decade now, I can say one thing for sure. No host is perfect. All hosts advertise unlimited bandwidth and space falsely. You have to realize that in a shared hosting environment no host would let you consume too much resources. That is just not practical. If one customer uses too much resources the other customers would suffer. So, when any site grows with time it makes logical sense to move to dedicated resources such as VPS or dedicated server. I have used perhaps a few dozen hosting accounts and servers and would say that HostGator is still one of the most "accommodating" hosts in their shared hosting and reseller plans. Other hosts just kick you out from their servers as soon as you spend even half the resources of what you use in Hostgator. Just my 2 cents.

Every time I see any hostgator thread, I expect some noob posting his affiliate link.
It refreshing to see an actual review.

P.S. I have been with hostgator since last 7 years. Never had any issue. Though I host some basic whitehat stuff there..
