Hostgator Blows! Anyone else having problems?

Totally agree. I will not recommend Hostgator any more. Slow load speeds and migration resulting in down time. Also, you can add Bluehost to the list too. Avoid EIG owned hosting brands.

I use hostgator for a few clients and I don't have any issues.

I'm not recommending it. Nor demoting it - just saying I'm not having any issues. Like others said, there are a shitton of hosts, don't waste any time complaining about it.

My sites got migrated but were back up within an acceptable amount of time 8-16 hours I think.

No other issues really.

I just hope they were upgrading the hardware.

If you overuse their CPU , they `ll suspend your account without notice :(

I never register to the same webhost twice, maybe have 20-30 sites on 1, then move and find another. You should always try and select a host that gives you cloudflare CDN so if they go down your sites still up.

It doesn't matter what host you use, you can use Cloudflare regardless

I had some issues tonight with HostGator and my sites were down for about 15 min. Since the EIG takeover, they have sucked and probably will never get any better.

I am using hostgator as well and apart from that downtime last month, I haven't face any downtime. But the server response time is slow. More often than not, I find my sites loading slower. May be this is the beginning of the end.

what kind of issue can you please elaborate

I am officially moving my site to a new host. I am sick and tired of Hostgator. It's seems like some new issue with them every other day.

I've used Ipage for a while and I wasn't thrilled but wasn't disappointed either, just unsatisfied with their cpanel... decided to try out hostgator for a new site and its been nothing but a big headache. I'm gonna attempt to cancel and get my 45-day money back guarantee. waste of time

So far so good, I think their servers are sluggish but then again so was FatCow. I think it's more a matter of WordPress themes not running efficiently along with the plugins.

HostGator is no longer the original Hostgator, they have been acquired by EIG? and they just kept the name the same, there service is definitely not what it once was and that's for sure, if your going to get a new host make sure that you find out if EIG is the real owner of the company or you will just be buying the same thing.

Hostgator offers nice services about hosting and they are old. Few weeks ago I had read a thread like another company bought hostgator. Maybe they did some new changes
