I am officially moving my site to a new host. I am sick and tired of Hostgator. It's seems like some new issue with them every other day.

Hostgator was good 2 years ago and now lots of people have problems mainly with their DNS server.

I decided to leave hostgator, when they decided to move my shared web server without telling me. So i lost 24 hours of website update.

Also sometimes there are very long web server responses (checked by using monitor.us)

Pack your bags and move to another host. I am going to do this tomorrow. Those gators destroying my sites.

hmm they are having fucking issue with there server for only 2-5 users online the process runinng and the cpu usage is too high beyond expected :(
After concluding everything,I have come to the point to show them something to fix

1. Check the hdd path of your data i.e scroll below the cpanel and check the Home Directory:- /home/
2. Goto server status ,there you will see the path /home/ find the status is it bad or good and contact the hostgator pointing them that something is wrong for which there is silly issue with your hosting

My problem solved

I really can't understand people whinning about a host provider.

I mean, doesn't work for you? Just change it! Don't whine/b*tch about man!

From my experience its best to have a few providers - all hosts have their problems after all.

I think I'm allowed to wine. Consider it a review. Their service has been great since 2013. Everything has been downhill from there. I don't want to contact support every time my site has problems. I'm also tired of solving the issue myself. I've promoted hostgator when I was happy with their service now I think I'm can wine a little.

Yeah, hostgator was sold at the beginning of the year, it's no coincidence they suck now. Or rather, they're just "average" now.

I've been having downtime and really slow loading times for the past 2 weeks too. Can anyone recommend a better hosting service that has a better track record for this year? Hostgator were fine for me for around 8 months but have gotten worse

Only thing I dislike is their prices. I run a few dedicated boxes and a few shared accounts. The shared account prices I think are great. But the dedicated are:

375x2
175

Paying $500 in dedicated fees and $50 in shared. BUT, I hardly ever have downtime. Except for that cluster fuck last month. I do get shutdown sometimes on a shared box but it is usually my end as you can only stretch so far with traffic. I will move eventually because I am burning money

Here's a golden tip:

Avoid any hosting company in this list, you will be amazed (recent purchase by EIG was hostgator and again proved to be catastrophic): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endurance_International_Group

Another tip? Search for hosts with their own datacenter (check about company section, etc) and some good years of clean history.

Good luck.

i have also facing same problem. but i move my websites to geniushost.in they are good & cheap. they provide canada webhosting with lite speed server. no downtime till today.

Before 2-3 weeks ago or maybe more alot people have troubles with them for about 3-4 days(me too) now everything is working good so far for me...

No problems since ever, but recently much slower loadings times.. considering switching... but where to??

Ive taken a beating by the gator the last year as well. I try to diversify my hosts and sticking with gator has been bad for business lately. DNS probs etc...

Not to mention Hostgator likes to self-advertise themselves.

They even go to the extend to create accounts in forums or even comment on people's blog to argue that hostgator is good, .etc.
Can't believe they go to the extend to pay for positive reviews, create dummy accounts to post positive experience/review, .etc.

Anyone remember this thread?
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/blackhat-lounge/597415-hostgator-down.html

I pointed out that the 2 posters joined the same date and, strangely, immediately post to that thread saying good stuffs about hostgator.

I brought up the coincidence and one of the guy (JohnnyEnglish) created a thread afterwards insulting me indirectly and claiming he is innocent and isn't affiliate with hostgator.

But what's ironic is that both of them has never logged in since 18 August, the day when I exposed them.

I have bought hostgator hosting and very happy with it. I am not facing any problem in their service and in my website.

you were lucky enough to be on a different node or maybe your sites weren't migrated yet

Using hostgator and didn't face any problems yet.

You were luckier, maybe no server migration for you. Two of my old shared accounts were moved and then hell released, after weeks of getting tired of daily downtime I finally made the switch to other hosts.
