Hook a newbie up!

New to all this. I recently started a website aimed at travel. Started making decent money through Adsense, then BAM. Banned!

Needless to say I wasn't too happy.

I have a full-time job, but I am looking to generate more streams of income.

I would like to eventually make $1000 a month. I know many of you do, or at least claim to do, and I kindly ask for advice.

I am not searching for just one thing to make me this money, but multiple streams.

The best thing is to spend 3-4 months reading this forum. Because you will not learn even a fraction with this thread!
 
I've been lurking for a few weeks until I decided to join. Looks like there is a plethora of information. Just need some direction.

Exactly what he said. You need to spend a considerable amount of time reading just to get some basic ideas and concepts. Since you've already ran into issues you might not want to jump into the water just yet. Getting banned from adsense sucks and shows that you really need to slow down and read a TON more. Take your time, work hard, and money will come.

No doubt. Any where either of you would suggest me starting?

I have a few hours a day to kill, so I want to make the most of my time learning.
 
Just start reading threads that interest you, you will soon notice the bs from the goods! Also dig into old posts and anything you want to know use the search feature and you will most likely find what your looking for,. There are 100s of things to do, pick what you like and become expert on it

Find out what you're good at first. I found if you stick to your skills you can really hone in on your methods and convert faster. For instance I'm good at writing so I do blogs and review sites to sell things. Others use peoples ideas, make an ebook, and sell them to noobs for a profit. Then there are those who use blackhat methods to generate sales. All depends on what you're good at and how creative you are.

You should really assess your strengths first then work on a corresponding method. There are tons of sites to make money on: Fiver, DP, eBay, Clickbank, etc etc. Look around :)
 
First, find out what you did wrong / why you got banned. You'll be able to figure out what you did by reading through the ToS or other banned testimonials. This will educate you on what is crossing the line...the idea being to walk the line instead of crossing it ha.

I am pretty deep in travel. I work for one of the most famous golf resorts in the US by selling golf packages. I am a seasoned traveler. So I am finding travel to be my 'niche'.

It's just so exciting to see how many alternate ways there are to generate flows of income.

I am blessed to have found such an informative site. I just wish I had found it sooner!
 
why not get an aff from the golf resort so they pay commission for every booking you get, set up a few micro niche sites with a booking engine and $$$

Golf is huge and if the resort is one of the biggest you will bank
 
sign up with comission junction,they have good travel offers,you can make good money if your blog has traffic
 
Im curious, what did you actually do to get your adsense banned? I want to make a learning experience out of this and make sure not to make the same mistake

I made the rookie mistake of clicking my own ads to see if they worked when I first published my website.

I wasn't banned until a few days after. I was unaware that my own clicks would even count against me.

Should have read all the rules prior, but like I said; rookie mistake. I'm paying for it, but I cannot let the ban mean the end of the world. Hell, it's just one stream of income.
 
There is not ONE thing that someone can say that will help you make money. You need to be reading and researching hours a day as well as applying what you learn. This is a trial and error business. You will not always reel in the big bucks, but you will learn through your ventures.

The best advice I can give is to start researching to create a strong foundation of knowledge. Once you have that base to work off of, start putting your knowledge into action - dont be afraid to take risks. this is business.
 
If you are finally here why don't you read around this forum. You will definitely find some gold mines

For starters, start narrowing down your interest into a true "niche." Travel is an industry. And it's HUGE.

In order to carve out your niche, start thinking of your interests and what you're an expert in. Sounds like you'd know a fair amount about traveling for golfers. There's more of a true niche.

Narrow that down a bit more, and you'll have a potential revenue stream that you can start banking $1k / month on.
