so tonight i had my shopping delivered from Tesco, 113 items. 198GBP
1 of those items was a 5LB joint of beef, but when i un packed all
the shopping after the Tesco driver had left, i found 2 joints of
beef x 5LBS but they had only charged me for 1 as i only ordered
1 joint of my order.

so i called Tesco and told them, uve sent me 2 joints of 5lb beef
but i only ordered and payed for 1, they replied, as followed

thank you for being honest and letting us no we had placed 1 joint
to many in your order, keep it and as a thank you, we are refunding
you the cost of the joint of meat you actually paid for.

so i ended up with 10lb of beef for nothing and a refund on the meat.
see honesty pays. TESCO we have refunded £16.78 back to your card.

i only paid for 1 -- i only expected 1, so karma says i had to call em
and say they sent 2, they could have sent the driver back to collect
but probably not worth there time. so they said keep it.
 
if it was me they would probably tell me to give it back to them or they will charge it directly from my cart - it's my luck and i know it !
 
reminds me of last summer, i ordered a 1 license year key from amazon for
mcaffee internet security, 14.99. instead they sent 10 1 year mcaffee card keys
and when i phoned amazon, same thing happened they said not worth there time
to collect 9 mcaffee key cards, keep them, and they refunded my original 14.99
i paid for the 1 year subscription key as a thanks
 
Surely honesty pays. Many people do not understand it. Karma is a systematic part of our Universe. However, many a times, to reap the seeds of good deeds it takes some time and to suffer from bad deeds also takes some time. So, it is better to always do good deeds. And those who do not believe in Karma, I have a question for you ... Do you believe in yourself ? I mean do you believe that you have any feelings, emotions, memory, etc ? Yes ? Then in that case do good deeds, because doing good deeds makes a person feel better, so make yourselves feel better. When you feel better, you think positively and when you think positively, you will keep doing what is right and when you keep doing right things, your chances of succeeding is more. It is all like a chain, one thing leads to another.

Plot twist they actually do this as a marketing method and get customers to mention them online :p

I did infact read here at BHW about your heart attack. It is nice that you are active (coz I see you daily at BHW). Since you've got stents, avoid lifting heavy things. My best wishes to you always.
 
By the way : Amazon used to do this for me all the time.

I used to buy a LOT of books. I was making 1000's in the affiliate program and spent a good slice of it in books.

So I'd receive those lovely heavy duty bags with 2 to 3 boxes in them.

But I'd always get some wrong books, often duplicated, some plain wrong ones that I didn't order.

I always contacted Amazon about it and they'd always say the same : keep the books as a gift (or return them if you REALLY don't want them).

This simple act made me a fan of Amazon early on. I'm still their customer to this day.

This is great marketing.

Also, returning the meat would pose a sanitary hazard. They'd be forced to throw the meat out. When you return food, they gotta throw it away. They can't know if you injected the meat with something or whatever. So for them, once they sent it, it's out. And they can't charge you for it either so....best strategy is to give it away anyway and hope it gets mentioned somewhere in a positive light.
 
@bartosimpsonio luckily bart i have a large chest freezer 200LTRS
and a 7ft up right fridge freezer so i got plenty of room for 2 joints
of beef to go with my 8 large chickens in there as well
 
Great story man, enjoy the beef. In Morocco you can get 1kg (0.5 pound) of beef for like 5 GBP. Add 0.5 GBP and they'll even cook it before packing it up for you.

Developing countries have their difficulties but the cost of living is really low.
 
I tried that once when pc world sent me 5 GTX 2080 RTX supers instead of 1. I wish they’d said I could keep those plus a refund.
 
Someone probably got thier arse handed to them because of your call though. Hope he doesn't have too many bills to pay.

Odds are no. Any manager with half a lick of sense would realize it was a mistake and instruct as opposed to berating him/her.

On the other hand, that manager sent in a memo to his boss showing his "trick" to get free advertising.

Dude double dipped... got to instruct and got a handshake from his superior.

if it wasnt yours try n return it. all you can do is try.
its the thought that counts . buts its 2nd time in a year
something like this has happened. and both times
i tried a return - but was thanked, refused and refunded
