    Hey all,

I have a amazon affiliate site for earbuds. I update it once a day with articles, product reviews, etc.

However, I want to focus more on other projects instead of having to write content, so I was going to autoblog with WP robot.

Has anyone used WP Robot? How did it work for you?

Did you get slapped with any duplicate content problems with google? Good alternatives to get more content?

    Thanks!

It's an Algo, of course it can be gamed.

I used it recently for a churn and burn project that put a few grand in my pocket but I would not use it for anything you expect to keep long term.

Use robot only if you have no time for managing with website. Otherwise manual text writing is the best for keeping the page alive

^^ is the crux of the matter.

The auto blog doesn't work anymore, but you can use WPRobot to populate products onto any site. The reason autoblogging doesn't work is because if you make it a true autoblog, you will have it go out and pick up articles and spin them to use on the site. This is what kills you, because consistent quality is not possible.

If you were to have a website that you did not autopost written content with, everything changes.

With WProbot, you can add products to your site automatically, a few at a time so the site shows steady growth. But you really have to also add quality content and you cant do that with WProbot. I have been suggesting they they create a document bank to post from, so you could stack good 10 articles in the buffer and use them for automatic posting, but so far they have not responded.

So really, in my opinion, where WProbot finds is footing is in semiauto bloging. I use it on two sites.

If you are not SEO-ing the site and driving the traffic, then you might be able to use it on full auto, but I bet the conversion would be crap.

Thanks for the great advice everyone! Maybe in the future I'll go with the robot to experiment, but it sounds like adding quality content manually is still the best way for my site to continue to rank.

I have the same opinion. You can add affiliate product in your blog, but you should not use Auto blogging. Coz it will post duplicate content from another site.

Just curious. Is the payoff from the affiliates to amazon not enough to pay for some purchased quality content?

From what I read, even middling quality purchased is better than spun content, and would allow you to keep the site going longer, especially if you supplement with some of your own content. Even editing "reasonable" purchased content might be worth the price in the reduced time it takes you.

I'm a noob, but I ask because it is a similar problem I anticipate facing, sooner or later.;)
