I'm wanting to have someone do an hour or so of data processing a day for me. I'd love to outsource this rather than actually hire someone locally in my business (also, I don't currently have the insurance required to hire someone as an employee) but...

The data processing involves dealing with hundreds of email addresses and other personal info a day and I want to guarantee those addresses aren't sold/spammed. Also, at the present time I haven't looked into what UK data protection law says about giving some freelancer in a foreign country access to these people's personal data.

I just don't feel confident enough that I can get someone off elance/outsourcers or especially BHW who wouldn't take advantage of having access to the data.

Does anyone have any tips? Thanks!

What type of processing you need ? Personally I wouldn't hire a freelancer for this kind of things. If the "processing" could be managed by a bot, I can create it for you. In this case, nobody will know that information.

Unfortunately it's a bit complex for a bot. The hard bit would be that it'd need information extraction of only certain email addresses and not others and there's no consistency to document structure. I doubt any kind of machine learning could be accurate enough...
