The situation:
We are experiencing significant traffic decline and need a thorough, expert audit to identify every issue. This is not a small job and I am not looking for a basic automated report. I need someone who will actually dig in.

About the site:
startupnetworks.co.uk is a UK startup website. We have around 1,700 indexed pages covering topics on funding, business setup, startup resources, events, and founder tools. The site runs on Invision Community software.
The situation:
We are experiencing significant traffic decline and need a thorough, expert audit to identify every issue. This is not a small job and I am not looking for a basic automated report. I need someone who will actually dig in.
Specific known issues going into this:
- We rewrote several high-traffic articles using AI and changed their URLs at the same time. Some have 301 redirects in place, some may not. Traffic on affected pages has dropped between 40% and 100%.
- We have multiple versions of some URLs live simultaneously — we need every duplicate identified and documented.
- Impressions have dropped from 762K to 462K in a single 28-day period. Clicks are also declining despite average position improving, which suggests a CTR or indexing problem.
- We switched off an AI news integration in late April/May 2026 which was artificially inflating our topic count — this may have caused crawl budget issues.
- Several pages are sitting at positions 10–20 with very high impression counts but near-zero CTR.
Technical SEO
- Full crawl of the site — all URLs, status codes, redirect chains, redirect loops
- Export of every currently ranking URL with current position, clicks, impressions, CTR (pulled from GSC if you need access)
- Identification of all duplicate URLs, near-duplicate content, and canonicalisation issues
- Crawl budget analysis — are we wasting crawl budget on forum pagination, tag pages, profile pages, or dead content?
- Core Web Vitals assessment across key page types
- Mobile usability issues
- XML sitemap audit — what's included, what shouldn't be
- Robots.txt review
- Subdomain analysis — is journal.startupnetworks.co.uk causing any domain authority split or crawl issues?
- Internal linking structure — are our most important pages getting sufficient internal link equity?
- Redirect audit — every 301, 302, and redirect chain on the site documented
- Title tag and H1 audit across top 25 pages — mismatches, duplicates, missing, too long/short
- Meta description coverage and quality
- Schema markup audit — what's implemented, what's missing, what's wrong
- Keyword cannibalisation — multiple pages targeting the same terms
- Thin content identification — pages with insufficient content to rank
- Pages where the URL slug no longer matches the content (due to title rewrites)
- Full backlink profile audit — toxic links, lost links, anchor text distribution
- Domain authority trend — has it declined over the period of our traffic drop?
- Competitor backlink gap analysis — what are our top 3 competitors getting links from that we aren't?
- Any manual actions or algorithmic penalty indicators
- Full export of all currently ranking URLs with positions, clicks, impressions, CTR — I want this as a clean spreadsheet
- Pages that were ranking and are no longer indexed — cross-reference GSC coverage report
- Identification of which specific URL changes have caused ranking loss
- Pages with high impressions and low CTR — these need title/meta recommendations
- Quick-win opportunities — pages sitting on page 2 (positions 8–20) with high impression volume that could move to page 1 with targeted improvement
- Full written audit report with executive summary, findings, and prioritised action plan
- Separate spreadsheet of all ranking URLs with current metrics
- Separate spreadsheet of all identified technical issues with severity rating and recommended fix
- Prioritised rewrite/fix list — what to tackle first to recover traffic fastest
- Google Search Console access
- Google Analytics access
- Existing GSC data exports covering last 16 months
- Examples of previous SEO audits you have completed (ideally for forum/community sites or content-heavy sites)
- Your proposed methodology
- Turnaround time
- Fixed price quote or hourly rate with estimated hours
- Any questions about the site before quoting
