I think we should have a system in place for this section. There is so many scammers and illegitimate freelancers out there that I think they should build some status here before offering their services.

So whoever wants access to this page must be a member for a month, with a minimum of 50 posts.

Something like that.

Why? well Members who recently join should take the time to read threads here, learn something, contribute and then have access to that section. This will help keep the scammers away more often then not. I see it all the time, someone asks for a service, a scammer makes an account the same day and wants to provide his services to the newbie and run off with the money. Why not make it harder for them. By having the restrictions of one month minimum of join date and 50 posts.

This way the victiim can learn more about what's available at bhw and scammers have a hard time making new accounts with different ips to scam and disappear, just to come back with another ip.

What do you guys think? Or is it unrealistic.

Very good suggestion...... I support this motion

Doesn't matter if you put in 50 or 5,000 post requirements as it's so easy to get to 50 posts in a matter of an hour.
All you need to do is type ' Welcome to BHW ' copy and paste to 50 newbies who post in introductions and there you are, you're at 50 posts.

I highlighted this here;

https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/boosting-post-counts.925597/

I would like to see all posts in this section removed from post counts and then watch some peoples actual post count numbers drop by 80%.

Common sense is what is needed in the Hire A Freelancer.

If you are going to work for a new member on a $500 project and not take measures to safeguard payment, then you don't jump into it.

As an example if I am going to work for anyone on there, I want payment upfront. If I am unable to deliver the work, I will refund.
I am not going to do any work then hope I will get paid for it.

I cringe when new people post these jobs paying $900 a month for a va job, and dozens of people flock to apply. Then a month later the buyer is on Shitlist as nobody got paid.

THINK THINGS THROUGH.... If someone can buy a basic service from Fiverr/ Upwork for $5 or $10, why would they post on here for the same thing for $30 ?
Same applies when people want to hire someone on their first post on here and they obviously haven't even checked Marketplace.

You have made valid points...... But OPs 50 post count idea is also valid

As I said above, 50 or 500 or 5000 these are just a number.
You can get to 50 posts in an hour = means sweet FA.

If it was combined with age of account, ie min of 6 months and a min of 100 posts, then that is a better option.

I said 50 posts with a minimum of one month registration. This would be tiresome for any spammer. I mean yes there would still be scammers. But I truly believe it would reduce scammers by atleast 50% because of the time and effort it will now take compared to before.

They will hopefully move on to better things in life. Right now however there is no big measure in avoiding scammers in this "hire a freelancer" section. So a scammer will just see this as an oppurtuntiy to hit and run at every chance because it's so effortless at the moment.

Besides a minimum 50% reduction in scammers in that section is really good in my opinion rather then how effortless it is to scam in that area right now. Small time scammers will disappear. The other 50% will be the ones looking to scam in the $100+ range and over, and the people who are spending that kind of money and above will do more due diligince in my opinion. So those 50% of scammers all of a sudden are wasting their time.

If you notice there are people who join here and quickly get to the magical 15 posts ( just to be able to PM ) as @Zwielicht has posted several times and he detects these people quickly.

All you'll find is someone joins on 1st May, posts 50 times in the first day, doesn't log back in for 30 more days then will come back and open the thread to hire a freelancer. They've met your criteria ;)

If you are unsure about a member on here, check out their profile, look under their postings. Keep an eye on the dates and the sections they're posting in.

Remember you need to carry out your own due diligence.

It's hard to carry out due diligence on strangers off the internet. Anybody could offer the mod a great service for a few days and then rip everybody off.
For example, there was some guy on here somewhere a while back offering affordable content but only if you pay him in advance for a year.

I'm not sending $3,000 in advance to a stranger on the internet from another country, especially when the monthly rate for the same service is way out of whack of the annual equivalent. The 50 post idea could work, the worst of the worst won't even bother to make 50 posts, so at-least that's the bottom of the barrel slightly clean?

I saw that and thought " yeh I'll send you a few grand upfront " lol!

Haha, I know right. I can't remember the details but when I suggested a monthly fee he told me to go to fiverr for content.
Bitch please, insulting people who won't give you couple of grand upfront is the way to go clearly.

Good Idea, even the same restrictions should be follow with newbie freelancers. Most of the freelancers looking for work but when the time comes to work on that project they backout and it's being trouble to face the situation for buyer. So it's need to be rule for both buyer and provider.
About 50 post, you are right. It's easy to make 50 post a day but there will be a rule as you stated on another response that the newbie person not able to login for 30 days.

One more thing i need to say, even MOD has mention on one thread about skype id or there personal contact details. First thing if on any thread skype id is being asked then only mention your id otherwise don't advertise your details while giving id on every thread without asking by OP.

Surely restricting's newbies for 30 days would be counter productive, this is an open forum, as I said earlier, there is no guarantees, just look at the shitlist. Jr vip's with large post counts and years on here feature on there.

Yeah right, and in place of scammers genuine person are suffering to this issue.
Even the recent post yesterday I saw where I replied on one thread regarding review work, saw one post that "please don't trust on him, he not paid me yet and when I send him request on pp he denied" and other people not reading the post which he responded and started saying. I am interested, add me on skype blah blah.. count me in.. still opening going on, I am interested..... what is this? Mean don't you even read previous message and not message he response with proof that see what he did. Really crazy. And you don't believe most of them are newbie.

Damn, I got tagged in this thread, now I've got to read it!

All right, I actually brought this up in my "new forum, new rules" thread, but here it is again.
We've begun taking some steps about the Skype issue fairly recently. For instance, BTB and I close every Skype group thread we come across (I'm not sure of either one us have gone into detail as to why we started doing this, but if not, I'll open up a thread with an explanation).

As for "ran-dumb" new members luring members to Skype and scamming, I've spoken with one of the in-house moderators about this and it appears we're all aware that the Skype scammers in the freelancer forums are problematic. I'm hoping these sections can get reworked ASAP because I'm willing to bet that it will reduce the number of Shit List threads significantly. Of course, we'll still have those morons who go to Skype and get scammed after being contacted by a scammer via PM, but we can't fix stupidity.

tl;dr Restrictions will probably be imposed in those sections. This isn't a promise, but believe me when I say that I want those sections fixed.

I hate them. So much. So, so much.

If you're ever in doubt about someone, refer to my Avoiding Scams & Staying Safe On Black Hat World. It goes over how to detect these Hire A Freelancer scammers and I update it frequently to address the new scam tactics these jokers are using on BHW.

lol.. for the pic.

Well thanks for taking an action on this.
