Out of curiosity, what's the best/highest DA/DR backlink you managed to land for FREE either for yourself or a client?

Exclude any paid listings, guest posts, niche edits, blog comments, etc. Actual quality, contextual, do follow, and completely free of charge link.

For me - DR 90 The benefit was also that it's a do follow one.

Yes, that's precisely what I meant. Except for the "natural" part. I mean, that's subjective if you still contributed a bit of content but sure and not just got it without even participated at all, but still let's call that "natural"

So many 80s and 90s I don't even keep track. Best was New York times that resulted into six figures in sales directly.
Funny story I once got fake quoted using my real name and linking to my site in an article on INC.com. I emailed him and said thanks and asked if he could do anything else. Well they sold links like the suppliers we have here but I never did ask or find out why the hell he made up a quote and gave me a free link. Was happy and didn't want him to remove it!
