High-DA PBNs With High Spam Score vs. Low Spam Score, Which Performs Better?

I’ve been experimenting with different types of PBN domains and noticed that some high-DA domains with a higher spam score still manage to move rankings, while others behave inconsistently. Meanwhile, high-DA PBNs with low spam scores tend to look cleaner, but the actual impact varies depending on the domain.

I’m interested to hear how others compare these two setups. Are high-DA PBNs with higher spam scores still delivering strong results for you, or do low-spam-score domains give you better overall performance?

From my experience, both types can move rankings, but results vary by niche and domain history. High da pbns with some spam often give quick boosts, while low spam domains feel safer and more stable long term.
 
High DA PBNs can still move rankings even with higher spam scores, but low spam, clean domains usually deliver more stable, long term performance.
 
Low-spam-score PBNs almost always perform better long-term. High-DA PBNs with high spam scores may give a short-term boost but they also have a higher chance of getting deindexed, triggering manual review and hurting your site.
 
A high-DA PBN with a low spam score is unequivocally better and safer for long-term SEO performance. While a high-spam score domain might occasionally work, it carries a much higher risk of a Google penalty and delivers unstable, unpredictable results. The consistency and safety of a clean, low-spam-score domain make it the superior choice.

True spam score on its own doesn’t mean much. I just use it as a quick flag. Only when it’s extremely high do I check the domain more closely. Context matters more than the number.

Yeah, agreed. Spam score isn’t a reliable metric by itself. I just use it as a quick signal, and only look deeper when it’s extremely high. The real judgment always comes from checking the domain’s history and link profile.
 
Spam score doesn’t directly affect your rankings, but it tells you if a site has a messy or bad link history
A high spam score usually means the site isn’t very clean, so the backlink might be risky
It’s not the number that hurts it’s what’s behind it
Links from clean low spam sites are always the better choice.
 
In my tests, both can rank but the spam score alone doesn’t decide anything. Some high-DA “spammy” PBNs still hit hard because the original backlinks are powerful. Meanwhile, low-spam domains look clean but only work well if the historical links are actually strong.
