Hidden Hyperlinks secret SEO trick

So I dont know if im just a newb, but what i do a lot is i use html to hide the coloring and underline of the hyperlink, and add a bunch of hyperlinks to the article without anyone even seeing they are hyperlinks so i have a shitload of anchor text. Any thoughts on that?

Also if anyone can pm me about some advanced SEO/SM tips or tools they know id really appreciate it

That is a tactic from 1998 or so.

Don't do that as it will come across like Spam to Google.

Agree.

Aside from that I believe google understands the context of a link as well as how likely it is to be clicked on, so throwing in links willy-nilly is also going to have reduced if not detrimental effect.

If you are talking about interlinking on your site then here you go -

1.Make sure your linking is well structured and semantic - so that you link from broad match pages to more relevant pages in the same area, that way Google understands exactly what your content is about and how relevant each page is to a particular subject.

2.Use a combination of terms when linking to pages - some direct match anchor, some broad match and some LSI and related terms, just like you would when setting up anchor text for external links.

3.Link to important pages from your homepage so they get more authority and surround those links with relevant text.

Thanks i actually am just working on internal links on the site, but actually the initial question was in terms of anchor text/hyperlinking from other external links. For instance my point about blanking out the hyperlink was not to hyperlink everything, just hyperlink 5 anchors instead of 2. If I have 500 words lets say, and i have 7 hyperlinks to different parts in my site on that in the external link , is that too much?

Also what about comments, dont comments get indexed and thus become unique links to your site in some cases, does it make sense to have people comment on relevant blogs and news papers?

Finally just slightly different topic, does anyone know how to make an easy script for page titles and decriptions as i have a site with thousand of pages (lots of user entries).

Well the same tips still apply. I dont think you need 7 anchors from 1 external page, I dont think you will get much benefit from that. Better to have 1 or two anchors and then a good distribution of that power throughout your own site with good internal linking.

And as I said, getting some really good content with a lot of relevant text and terms related to your primary keywords on that page of external text surrounding your link(s) is also very beneficial.

Blog comments, yes they are good as well but not too many of them because they tend to end up with a high amount of outbound links so they get devalued somewhat.

A sneaky way to hide a hyperlink from web users while keeping it available to the search engines is to put the hyperlinks in a layer that is “behind” the visible layer. The CSS z-index property specifies the stack order of an element,which is supported in all major browsers. An element with a greater stack order is always in front of an element with a lower stack order. One example hiding hyperlinks via z-index is this :

<div id=‘‘back” style=‘‘position:absolute; z-index:-1”><a href=‘‘target.html” target=‘‘blank”>target keyword</a></div>

The codes show that the second div has a negative stack order, which determines the target.html is behind the image.gif. Besides z-index, “overflow:hidden”can also hide the hyperlinks below the visible layer. Here is a simple example:

In the example above, target.html is covered by a non-breaking space.
