Hi folks! I'm Alessio, i live in Rome, Italy and today i joined your insane forum.
I'm an industrial designer, web designer, italian junior chef, newbie youtuber, ex-hacker (when i was young).
So if i can help you guys in any way, if you wold know how to cook a real pasta spaghetti meal, or something special here in rome, i'll be glad to help you.
I'm going to read some interesting thread for me.
Any suggestion for where to start?

    Thank you all

Thank you guys for your welcome.
In these days i explored your deep deep forum, i learn something but sincerely i think that most of the methods mentioned was old and not fully functional.
For example i read on the niche method, but in 2k15 there are billion niche website.
I tried to start with an experiment buying a brand new games domain and put some review with affiliate link inside.
But i don't belive this make the difference. I've a lot of spam comments, i spammed too, but nothing special.

I can't find the experiment that was "insane". When i was young we "play" a lot in shelling/rooting server, buyng ticket train and some other stupid stuff.

I would like to find something new and exciting to try.

And at least i can't figure how to make quality traffic for my girlfriend blog.

If you want guys we can combine forces and make a new niche: "Italian food cusine for non-italians" LOL

    Thank you all

There is nothing new in marketing. The secret is taking the methods and making them yours. What this means is that you take a proven method and adapt it to the specifics of the time/platform/locality/whatever. This is called "your twist". Don't make the mistake of thinking that you need the latest shiny secret.

By your assets, obviously. For example, do you have a big youtube following for your chef creations? If not, why not?

Don't get me wrong but i thought you were alesso the DJ.
Anyways if i were you if you got the money why not make a website that revolves around your expertise in which people would love.
For example since you're into cooking why not post instructional video's on the internet along with making a social media profile and start from there? :)

    Hi guy,
    thank you for your welcome.
I want to answer on some of you.
I like cooking and i cook "well" because i started when i was young with my grandma and, you know, here in italy, it's the most common thing to do.

BUT... guys there is a LOOTTT of cooking website, taste youtube channel and so on... so why the people should listen to me and get paid for that??

Who is Alessio the DJ??? I swear i'm not a DJ LOL!

I would try to make some cooking posts or videos, but here in italy is a big and common niche with a huge competition. So you suggest me to talk to an international people like you? Here's another problem. I don't speak english very well. When i speak english i look like a Pakistani that speak in english :(. So, what do you think i should do?

I already made an experiment making some weekly vlog on YT (if you want to bore you can find me with user "Alessio Terry") but it was a failure :D

I swear the next time i'll make a new video, i'll make one only for you guys. My own recipe for "Spaghetti al ragù", the original-grandmother-naples one she taught me.

The last think is. As i said in an other thread, years ago i started a website/marketplace/ecommerce/blog based on 3d printing because i love it but I have never been able to get it off. I spent a lot of time to code it, to write some good article, but i still remain on 16 avg/daily visit. Could you help me to find the reason of that :arg:? here the link meshup .italian

That's all. Tomorrow me and my family will go to Naples to eat some real Pizza, some good Babà and other kind of delicacies. I'll make a new video and i'll post it here if you like.

    Welcome to BHW Alessio.

My advice would be to find a niche you love, and work at it until you start profiting off of it.

Some of the other guys in this thread have made great suggestions. Give one a try before you assume it won't work.

    Definitely!

That's an advantage, not a disadvantage. You are looking it the wrong way. Your target will be the US mainly - they already know how to speak English so to them this is mundane - boring. What they do not know is how to speak Italian. So speak Italian, slowly, like an theater actor. Have subtitles in your videos. Then sprinkle your performance with visibly goofy efforts to speak English, again like a theater actor. "Posta... Come è in inglese? ... A, si! Pasta!" (yay, Google transalte!). Understand this - people don't watch cooking videos for the recipes - they do it for the entertainment. Cooking as an act comes secondary.

You are photogenic so you're already ahead of the curve. All you have to do is make good content with an interesting presentation. It will take a few iterations to nail it down, but do you think for example Tim Ferriss just woke up one day and became famous? Fail, iterate, fail, iterate ... succeed.

That's one hell of a resume Alessio! I just joined to but welcome to BHW anyways.

Just like you I learned how to cook from my grandma. I don't get to cook as often as I like but I'll be on the lookout for your Spaghetti al rage recipe.

Jazzc, great advice, I'll take part of that as a free lesson as well.
