I think it's better to consult proper authorities and set up a bait for the sextortionist that will extract some lead to his identity. Ask for a help in someone who is a very good at social engineering or another option is someone that can do the same to the hacker, a link that can extract the location info and details of the sextortionist

Social Engineering is the key, the key is to deliberately let your guard down, be vulnerable first but just act that all is going according to his plan. That's when he will let his guard down at some point. Any personal info from him is valuable, for example, if he try to extort money, and if he give his bank or any other payment receiver details.

I agree, she told me that she tried to "cooperate" or "entertain" his wishes, to let him feel like he has the upper hand. But that was short lived. I could let her know to do this. I also gave her the specific contact details of an investigator with the cops. She'll compile anything she has, info, details, the entire ordeal she went through, and send it all in an email to them. I hope the vids never see the light of day.
