Hey guys,
I'm just starting out with my own online shop business and all the additional Social Media, SEO, .. you name it.
I had a hard time all my life but now trying to take it into my hands to change it, no matter what.
I'm happy to find that much knowlegde in one site, but I'm a bit overwhelmed who to believe as here is of course a lot of money involved.

Anyway, I hope to find here like-minded friends to make good business and make an impact.

Welcome! Make sure to set up everything correctly right from the start in order to avoid trouble with the Finanzamt or legal warning letters.

Also, check out the Journeys section for inspiration.

Is there an Overview of „German“ Journeys ? Or of potential Problems with the Finanzamt?
Do You have any advice for finding a Steuerberater?

Not aware of any overview, but you can search for terms like "Germany" in the journey section and check the results. I guess there won't come up that much, though. Just check the regular journeys, most things can be applied in the German market, too.

Read up on doing business in Germany before you start (and particularly about doing IM). It's not as easy as targeting the global market since you are legally required to display all your personal information on all your German websites etc. which makes you vulnerable to lawsuits, at least if you want to abide by the law.

As for tax advisors, look for those that already have experience working with online entrepreneurs and forget the rest. Google "Steuerberater + online business" or "+ internet marketing". JUHN Partner in Cologne is a big name, but if you are just starting out, you can certainly also find cheaper ones.
 
Thank You that is very valuable information. I have also wondered about the impressumspflicht. If google cared enough about the german market it would literally take them no effort to put a few search engineers on a project that checks all german sites for similar entities in their impressum, thereby destroying all (legal) PBNs...

Well, PBN sites don't have an Impressum, that would defeat the purpose ;) And since they usually aren't monetized + registered and hosted anonymously, there's no way (and usually also no interest) in figuring out the owner. It gets more complicated for money websites, though.

I find it really interesting to hear from other Germans about their challenges/experiences in the IM market. Most of the valuable content is completely focused on the US/English Speaking market and many specifics just don‘t apply in Germany.
Copywriting in German is much harder for me than in English. Maybe because the kinds of phrases that sell best just sound to cheesy to me in German
I realize that there is not going to be a german language subforum on BHW but if there is enough interest, we might do a (virtual) meetup ?

Yeah and germans are always super suspicious in anything, super annoying haha
