    Hi guys,

just wanted to introduce myself shortly here.

I'm Robert, currently living in Switzerland, and I've been doing "Online Marketing" for close to 10 years now.

However: Most of my businesses have been centered "offline", and online measures were only used to help them grow.

I had some great successes, and I had some awfully costly failures. Build some 7-figure business in a year and went bancrupt with it - because we've been greedy and growing too fast.

Throughout the last 2-3 years of "offline" business, I've always been dreaming about doing something purely "online". Reason is: if you have an offline business crowing, its a f...ing pain in the ass. You got your inventory (in our case, a "best before" inventory which is even worse), you got the pain of product checks, so once you've grown to a certain size it's no fun anymore.... at least to me.

There are guys who like to administer things, but I'm the type that gets bored once something is done. I need to move on the the next thing. I need to build up, to get through the problems, solve them and then I can leave it happily, even if there's more money in it :) strange, but maybe one or the other of you knows what I'm talking about.

    Anyway:
I've made a decision to focus most of my energy to "online" projects from now on. I now a lot about online marketing - but "pure" online marketing is a totally different world that I'm eager to learn about.

I'm lucky to have the funds to have a nice head start regarding tools, ad funding and stuff.... but still, I consider myself a newbie.

    Now, start flaming ;-)

Best regards and please, keep any spelling and grammar errors as a gift ;-)
    Robert

    Hi guys,

indeed it's a nice country. Moved here from Germany, which is on a bad downward spiral from my point of view - if you're an entrepreneur, you'll get pretty much punished for it.

I'm pretty sure I'll learn very fast - we've been using Twitter, Facebook, Emailmarketing etc. for a long time, just not for purely "digital" stuff. I know the value of targeted lists - in one of my "online" businesses, I have a targeted list of 150'000 people that we advertise to - and another one which onlys has around 17000 members (all buyers of our products), but boy if you mail them - they'll buy.

My biggest challenge at this point is that I'm honestly afraid of offering something of no "physical" value :) - it's stupid, but this really is a barrier for me.

But I'll get over it soon :).

Looking forward to learn a lot from you guys! Glad to be here!
    R.

There you go buddy, I just gave you a first 'Thanks'. Why don't you be a good lad and thank me back? :))

The first thing that come up in my head when I heard 'Switzerland' is a beautiful, green, mountainous country, lots of rich bastards, expensive standard of living, and Heidi, and the Sound of Music, and also Roger Federer.

...OK, Martina Hingis too (hey, she's hot - at least for me)

So, good to have you around, and don't forget to enjoy the ride.
