help with website design

hello members this is imran here i am starting a online store to sell clothes and want my customers to try on clothes to get a feel how they look . to achieve this what i thought was to photograph every dress on a manequin and digitally edit out the manequin leaving only dress and i would like the dress to get snapped at points like shoulders waist and hips based on user uploaded photo . so in order to achieve the above functionality how should i go about it what plugins apis or scripts can help me to this please help as i am particularly a noob in programming but lukily have a developer who knows coding but he is limited with functional knowledge

Your post reminded me of some other site where it helped the visitors to really "try" on the tshirt on themselves like you mentioned in your OP. I forgot the name, but this would keep pricking the back of my mind till I again find it. When I do, will let you know about it, and then you can approach the site owner for a little help in knowing how he does that.

You can begin with wordpress + woocommerce. Both are free. If you're in India I can tell you how to setup a free-of-cost but top-quality Indian payment gateway on your site. You don't even need to be a offline company for that. But that is for Indians. If you're outside India, you can set up Paypal Business account here at least, and some other free but pro-quality payment gateway on your site... There are plenty of woocommerce related free and paid plugins to chosoe from. There are also some free wordpress plugins to set up your specific website, e.g.:

You can use one or many of the BST services to get you up in SERPs, get traffic, begin doing social networking, etc. If you know SEO then you can use it effectively. There are some dropshippers in the niche too. You can sell custom t-shirt designs on your site and for that you can talk with local custom designers, or find online designers by doing G search.... there are plenty of youtube videos to show you how to achieve things that you will need from time to time in regards of creating and operating your website and business. You can also sell your products on Amazon and ebay, etc. Whatelse...

T-Shirt is only one example I have given, but you can use the idea to sell different apparels once you know the tricks. I am also a seller on ebay and have my own wordpress+woocom site where I sell clothes. I began same like you, on square-one and with zero knowledge about everything. I only had a great supplier whose designs are very beautiful and famous offline. I just put them online, first with ebay then on my own site, somewhat successfully too.

Btw I had no money to spend on this niche. I began taking photos of the products which my friend had in his factory and on his wholesale shop. I put them on ebay and then bought and delivered from him to the new customers. That way I got the money to invest more, and the dedicated site came up of course without spending on anything else other than the hosting and domain name. The WP, Woocommerce, payment gateway, plugins are all free. So don't worry about the costs if you've a product line ready to sell.

PayUMoney (click its For Merchants link on the top menu) is that free and pro-quality payment gateway. You will get payments only from India by using it, but it is worth to begin with. Just create a site according to their specs and fill the form. They will approve or disapprove (mostly it should get approved without any hassles or difficulty) in quick time too. I think that there are specs writte on their site on what are the requirements, but those requirements are simple and general. If you don't still have a hosting service, you can create a web store on their site also.

About the try-room, I think that's highly difficult. On the otherhand, just let your visitors use a measurement chart which helps them decide which size to buy. Your idea will need a graphical interface on the site where an image of the tryer's portrait image (neck upwards, for example) can be imorted along with the selected t-shirt or whatever other apparel-type he/she selects from the site, and also helps the tryer to resize both the images to proportionate scales thak can make a preview in a sensible form to him/her . But everyone is made differently... may be the arms are well built up in some which can make the t-shirt not fit, or may be someone has a huge abdomen and that will require another plus or plus2 size even if the shouldiers width fit.... a woman may have plenty of other problem sizes... so better go for a measurements chart and let the buyer but using those options, then let him get into the tshirt physically after he buys it. lol
