I'm currently speaking to a potential client and was looking for some advice with pricing.

Here are some details:

it's a custom software/web app company. they develop back end/front end systems/apps for large companies.
7 employee company bringing in ~1 million in revenue.
They recently acquired a project for a quarter million via their website.
they focus on big projects.

they have absolutely zero web presence.
they haven't updated their website in a couple years. they barely have anything on there.
they don't have analytics installed. they don't even know how many visitors they are getting.
their places page has nothing on it.

They wanted help with SEO and possibly social.

In order to provide the most value I plan on providing SEO work and other leads generating activities like creating their news letters and handling email lists. Their website needs a re-haul with much better copy and CTA's.

I'm not sure how to go about the pricing however. For anyone that has a similar client, how do go about your pricing?

Thanks in advance!

Do you want to charge him on monthly basis? Or you need pricing for a one time package?

Hello,

I think you got a very good opportunity. Now you need to first offer them what their current competitors are doing and how you will beat them by SEO.

Your deal should clearly mention your efforts and possible outcomes step by step. Software companies generally bill their client hourly. If you can crack the hourly rates thats best.

Either way just show them your plan and payment release every week/ month on the task completion basis.

Let me know If I can help you at some particular point as I have very good experience with software development too.

I was looking to charge monthly recurring for the services. Should I charge one figure or should I break down each service that has a charge associated with it?

Yes they charge hourly as well. Are you saying that I should charge hourly as well? With the figures I've given would you be able to give a ballpark estimate of how much I should be charging?

Thanks a lot for the help!

Hello,

As per my opinion hourly charges negotiation is best for you. They will think they are paying what you are working for. You will provide them detailed report as well, I think 5-10 $ per hour can be best deal for a junior resource. For a senior resource It can be even 20 $ or more.

On the another hand you have the opportunity to make more money because If they get good results, you can ask to increase hourly rate.

If you offer the monthly fees that's good but not the best deal. You should give the break up for that as well for each service and its charge.

Let me know what else I can do for you.

I believe to give client higher value through my services in low price.
