Hi all, thanks for taking the time to read this if you do.

I have recently bought an IG account with 60k followers for $100 in the meme niche. The account was organically grown, focusing on Game of Thrones memes. The account has been struggling, but I am turning it around, slowly increasing engagement from 2% and managing to gain around 100 followers a day as a private account. A couple of people have paid me $10 for promotions already with the reach on some posts being around 15,000.

HOWEVER, my vision behind this account was to set up a high end fashion blog page, with my own website selling vintage clothing, marketed through IG ads. With 60k, individuals would deem me a reputable source, increasing the likelihood of purchases, so I was not too fussed about demographics (particularly at $100 for 60k), albeit I am UK based and 30% are from the US- 6% from the UK.

Obviously, the account following and current niche has no resemblance to a potential customer base. So I see a few options...

1) Rebrand and create the new page- Positives - it is my vision -- a disengaged following is better than a brand new page with no following -- it takes years to build a customer base (so have to start somewhere) -- maybe a lot of money to be earned?? Negatives- could decimate following and engagement.

2) Keep meme page- enjoy the likes and follows and make a bit of money on the side

3) Flip the page- $100 for 60K is fantastic, so sell it on, make a few hundred bucks.

4) An alternative I have not for-seen yet :)

What do you guys think? I would greatly appreciate any advice or help, particularly on how the transition to my business page could work successfully.

Thank you so much!!!

I would personally keep the account how it is and maybe try grow your fashion page of the back of it like posting relevant memes in which you can tag your other account in the posts and try gain followers to that account.
Also 1 question where did you buy your account?

Ok thanks. Just through research & DM. It was not easy negotiating to prevent a scam.

Or maybe you could find a GOT related product and try to sell it, POD, Goodies etc.. ;)

Can I ask you where you bought your account from? And how can you tell if it's organically grown? I'd love to buy a solid account for health/fitness genre.

As @perrymason said, shoutout your new fashion brand, maybe one shoutout for every 5-6 posts?
I was also going to suggest this. Good way to test things out, either way I think you will struggle to get enough traffic from only your account and you'll also need to think about other methods, shootouts, paid ads etc.

I think you should carry forward your vision by gradually transitioning this meme page to a fashion blog page. Start by posting memes related to fashion, maybe memes about the vintage fashion that was in GOT can be a good idea as it relates the two. Or you can just make a new fashion blog page and use this one to promote your blog.
