Hi, so I was wondering how hard would it be to get into the gaming niche? I have a up running website, using wordpress, but it isnt getting anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated. More information include:about 300 articles, consistent posting, quick running and easily navigable layout. Idk what im doing wrong, but I am more than willing to learn.

So my website is in the gaming niche. I know it is a very hard niche to get into, but I still have hopes of somehow getting somewhere. I focus on things the bigger websites don't focus on and I interact with any fans that come by. I primarily focus on rants, reviews, and soon to be videos. The issue is that no matter what I do, I cant seem to get beyond 30 daily page views. I am using wordpress as my platform, but I made sure it run at a decent speed, have easy navigation, and sharing options to easily post and share with other people so I don't think the issue is my website itself. For advertising, I usually post on Re (either a hit or a miss, but I found re to be a terrible place in general for returning people). I also use a website called N4G which is a submission type of website, but focusing on gaming. I hate the community there and I really dislike the system in general. I made social media accounts (both with a couple thousand from paid advertisements) but they dont get exposure anymore for some reason. I actively posted since I created the website (back in feb 2013) on either the website or on one of the social media pages.

My original goal was to make it so it could self-sustain, meaning I want the profits to go back into the website so I can stop using my own money to run it (I am not rich -.-). New goal is to simply get some people to actually read my posts and give feed back. I am very unenthusiastic about writing long posts if I know nobody will never read them. Keep in mind that I am a college student with limited funds). I am willing to do this full-time for now if needed. I have a chaotic schedule. Any help and I mean any help will be greatly appreciated. No need to be nice, give me the cold honest truth so I can go about in the best way possible to succeed.

Maybe you just need to do some extensive keyword research. Just 'Gaming' is a very very broad niche and one that is over saturated in many ways. For example. There are a ton of gamers who play games on youtube. Then there are the established ones like IGN and gamestop, metacritic, Classic gaming room who do news and reviews.

So you have to sit and figure out what exactly you are trying to do ? Just written content or video too. Will you restrict yourself to a certain kind of game (say sports franchise games like FIFA 15, Madden or say a niche like Japanese anime games). My suggestion would be to do something you like personally instead of thinking about money. Gaming is in no way a get rich quick niche, simply coz there are way too many people doing and it and a lot of big authority brands maintain a solid presence on google page one. You will have to find your own sub-niche.

After looking at my posts, i noticed that a majority of my posts were for Nintendo games. Do you think that is still too broad of a niche to begin with? I actually really enjoy writing about it, and money my primary concern atm. and also for clarification, I was using google keyword tool to research. That is the best way correct?

yea Google keyword planner is the way to go, i think you should spend some time learning about onpage SEO and competition analysis.

You have the biggest goldmine in your hand, your WRITING skile and CONTENT generation, just spend some of your time learning about finding easy keywords and some SEO, then you should be good to go in the long run :P.

All the best buddy.

It is glg-gaming. I thought to make it stand for "good looking gamers".

site looks good, try adding to Disqus to your site

Try something different if that doesn't make you money, it's a cute little site but cute doesn't pay the bills.
