Help with DNS record

Hi guys,

Can you help me with setting up the DNS records for a domain?
The provider where I have the domain and the hosting refuse to help me, it keeps telling me that I need to add the DNS record to the domain.

This is his answer "You can add DNS records in the client area. Go to "Domains > Manage Domain > DNS Management".", but everything I tried does not work, any suggestions?

What hosting company are you also using, have they given you the nameservers yet?

Find your nameservers from your WEB HOSTING COMPANY

Example I'm with MediaTemple and the nameservers are:

NS1.MEDIATEMPLE.NET
NS2.MEDIATEMPLE.NET

Next, you want to connect those nameservers to your domain (through your registrar)..

So say you registered the domain at namesilo go log in and find where to add them.

After that your domain should work.

Name Servers
To update your Name Servers, log into our website and go to:

"My Domains > Manage Domain > Nameservers"

Use our default Name Servers if you wish to be able to update your DNS from within our system:

ns1.ititch.com
ns2.ititch.com
ns3.ititch.com
ns4.ititch.com

Do it with cloudflare man, it is much more easy! I too have a WHM Panel with a VPS setup. https://ibb.co/bBGJwv
Hosted on a VPS https://ibb.co/ifZhOa , I can help you set up with cloudflare they give free ssl too. I use that only.

If it is registered it will work, you have some errors from your WHM panel connecting the website. I guess you need to point your domain to your servers ip.
That could be the possible mistake you had be making.

If your host is not willing to help out since you have both the domain and hosting with them. It might be a good option to change web host.

Did they set the name server records up for you when they installed cpanel or did you? If they set it up then really all you need to do is update the name server on the domain.

If you used a custom name server you will have to set up a host record first.

I have never used that domain or Host company before I have also never heard of them until now.

Man the thing is he is using VPS, in VPS why would any company help with webhost.
He has to do the thing.

I think you may have to configure your DNS Zone Records to point to your server.

Based on the images you provided I think you need to do the following:

Goto the "Manage DNS Zone Records" area as shown in one of the screen shots and enter the following information:
Hostname: @
Ipv4: 104.254.99.59
TTL: 300

You may have to let that hang out for a bit to propogate, or give it 5 minutes, connect to a VPN and then try since those servers wont have cached something old.

I have no idea what to do next.
This is for a client and he wants this domain, otherwise, I would've moved to other host providers. The client payed for all of this and now I look like I have no idea what I'm doing

I would maybe add the nameservers like apex1 posted above if changing the nameservers to be exactly as shown in your setup (https://scontent.fotp1-1.fna.fbcdn....=8c92f28e147002accd1255fad9dacb4e&oe=59AB78F0) isn't possible. Does that make sense?

in VHM the nameservers are ns1, ns2.automotive4sale.automotive4sale.com

I've added this as A records:
*.automotive4sale.com 104.254.99.59
@.automotive4sale.com 104.254.99.59

and now the domain is redirected to http://localhost
