Help with adwords

Hey guys.

Im trying to set up a Adwords campaign, but I'm pretty newbie. This is what the Suggested bids looks like: http://puu.sh/hzvef/d27bab2fd4.png The keywords have 200-400 searches. I'm seeing no competition when I search for them.

On the Estimated traffic summary, it's showing 0 clicks/day, even if I put 0.50 on the default bid. I should get more clicks, should'n I?

Second, I've noticed that estimated traffic is not accurate at the beginning of a new campaign.

Third, for whatever reason these forums are a pretty dry resource for Adwords. I honestly wish I knew I better place to point you, too, but there are VERY few people here who know their PPC stuff.

It's been a while since I've run any PPC campagins, although I'll try to help clear things up as much as I can.

According to Google, "Your suggested bid is calculated by taking into account the costs-per-click (CPCs) that advertisers are paying for this keyword for the location and Search Network settings you've selected. The amount is only a forecast, and your actual cost-per-click may vary". If you truly have no competition for the keyword in Adwords, then bid the minimum amount and you should appear in the first top ad position in the SERPs (assuming you're using the search network and not the content network).

If you're receiving 0 clicks but you're still receiving impressions, there could still be a few factors working against you. One of these factors is the results in the organic part of the SERPs. If these results have more captivating titles and descriptions than you Adwords ad, then you could be losing any clicks that you would normally receive to these ads. Speaking of titles and descriptions, another issue could be that your ad is of low-quality. For example, in the case of text ads: your display URL could appear spammy, your headline could be mundane, and your description might deter users away from clicking your ad. If you're not sure whether or not your ads are the issue, do an A/B test by rotating 2 different versions of the your ad evenly until you find out which one converts the best.

While reviewing this course material won't make you an expert PPC manager, it may just save you from burning a hole in your pocket.
